Tesla CEO Elon Musk is once again showing off his funny side by mocking Bitcoin maximalists with a lightbulb joke in a Tweet. However, Elon Musk mocking the flagship cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, was not taken up lightly by the crypto community.
Elon Musk Mocks on Bitcoin Maximalists
On June 25, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk took to Twitter to tease on ābitcoin maxis,ā a term used to describe ardent bitcoin supporters, using the classic āhow many (person or thing) does it take to fix a lightbulbā by posting āHow many Bitcoin maxis does it take to screw in a lightbulb?ā
Naturally, Musk mocking at the flagship cryptocurrency was not taken up lightly by the crypto community.

Bitcoin maximalists or āmaxisā is a crypto slang for those who believe that Bitcoin is the only supreme digital asset and those other digital currencies called altcoins are unnecessary or inferior to it.
Per the maximalist ideology, other cryptocurrencies are not in line with the ideals established by the pseudonymous creator Satoshi Nakamoto.
The Tesla CEOās relationship with Bitcoin is currently under an on and off zone. For instance, in May, the electric car manufacturing company announced it would accept Bitcoin as payment but then later on decided Bitcoin mining wasnāt ācleanā and that his decision shouldnāt come at an environmental cost.
A month later, Musk went back to saying that Tesla will resume allowing bitcoin transactions when miners use 50% renewable energy.
Jack Dorsey Invites Elon Musk to Talk About Bitcoin
On June 24, Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey shared a link to the āB Wordā website, an initiative by the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI), which will be hosted by Dorsey and Arkās Cathie Wood on July 21 that aims to destigmatize mainstream narratives about Bitcoin.
Elon Musk cheekily replied āBicurious?ā under Jack Dorseyās tweet about the āThe B Word.ā

In turn, Dorsey replied that Musk could share āall his curiositiesā at the event by inviting his Tesla counterpart for a chat at the event. Musk probably was taken by surprise at the response and replied with an āOmg.ā
The conversation continued where Dorsey continued with his invite with āLetās have THE talkā. In response, Elon Musk noted that the reactions under the Twitter thread were āpure gold.ā
Sarcastically, Dorsey tagged gold buff Peter Schiff, in response to Muskās reply, but Schiff poked fun at both Dorsey and Musk by saying the ācomments in the thread are a long way from being gold.ā
The comments in this thread are a long way from being #gold, but they come a lot closer than #Bitcoin.
