  The United Nations Secretary-General convenes the Annual Internet Governance Forum (IGF). The forum features intersessional groups working on diverse internet governance topics. Among these groups, the Dynamic Coalition on Blockchain Assurance & Standardization (DC-BAS) just made history. On August 26, 2024, DC-BAS adopted Bylaws and technology to become the first global Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) within the UN IGF framework. Dino Cataldo Dell’Accio, the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund’s Chief Information Officer, praised this as a “groundbreaking step forward in public sector governance.” He highlighted how the DAO showcases blockchain’s potential to
