همانند بسیاری از برنامه های تلویزیونی در سال گذشته، فیلمبرداری این سریال نیز تحت تأثیر کووید-19 قرار گرفت. اوه و کاویل جراحت جزئی گرفت on set while blasting through a gauntlet “involving swinging axes” 20 ft high in a tree canopy. What a shirker.
Fortunately in spite of filming delays, there’s plenty to look forward to. There will be many more witchers, including Geralt’s tutor Vesemir and the young upstart Lambert. Late last year Netflix officially revealed the synopsis for season two. Since then we’ve been waiting on cast announcements for new characters that will be very familiar to fans of the books.

Here’s the plot summary: “Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
It will be interesting to see how the show adapts Ciri’s time at Kaer Morhen. The Witcher 3 opens with Geralt, Vesemir and Ciri training at the castle, though the showrunners have been clear that the show is based on the novels rather than CD Projekt RED’s games. It should be good to see Ciri’s character develop when she’s not wandering around a forest for numerous episodes.
