A renovated Neutral Bay whaler’s cottage with two bedrooms, a studio and no parking has sold in a week for $3.1m.
No. 7 Reserve St was scheduled to go to auction with Stewart Robertson and Alexis Hay, of Raine & Horne Neutral Bay, however buyers had other ideas.
“We had everyone from young families to empty nesters looking at it,” Mr Robertson says.

The two-level cottage, which is located in a quiet cul-de-sac and has two living and dining areas, as well as terraces and a level lawn and garden. It had a guide of $2.75m
“It’s a gorgeous place, you can’t get more character,” Mr Robertson says. “It was one of those places you walk in and just feel happy.”

The result will no doubt be making the owners pretty happy too.
According to CoreLogic records, they paid $935,000 for the cottage in 2003, meaning they have tripled their money in 18 years.
The sale is also a new street record, bumping off the three-bedroom house next door at No. 7, which sold in March 2020, for $3m.
