On a mission to give travellers and travel brands more sustainable and reliable transport solutions, Transferz has just secured €6.5 million. The Dutch startup is now planning to jet-set its international expansion plans.

Getting to and from the airport is often way more complex than it needs to be. Whilst travel marketplaces and brands have numerous solutions to book flights, accommodation and rental cars, reserving and booking (private) ground transport is another story.

On a B2B basis, existing private transport solutions (such as ride-hailing apps like Uber, Bolt and Lyft), don’t really cater to the market. Existing solutions don’t offer booking on a seamless basis, face limitations, and have trouble guaranteeing quality.

Amsterdam-based Transferz wants to change this. The startup works with travel businesses to get more peace of mind through the travel supply chain and it’s just secured €6.5 million from a consortium of individual business angels and family offices.

Founded in 2020, Transferz offers a global marketplace for ground transportation, making pre-booking airport transfers simple and internationally available.

Johan van Vulpen, Transferz CEO: “At Transferz, our focus is on delivering the highest quality of transportation services to global travel partners while also making a positive impact on the communities and environments in which we operate.”

The traveltech platform offers a range of automated solutions for travel brands – including the booking of any mode of transportation from and to over 750 airports, sea ports, train stations, and soon, point-to-point destinations globally. The technology easily integrates via APIs directly into the booking flow of travel brands and provides a portal solution for travel agents.

Transferz has also created a network of private transfer service providers offering electric, private, and luxury transfers in local areas, ensuring a sustainable and reliable solution. The firm also. has eco-friendly options, such as electric transfers, and provides fair payouts to drivers.

In the future, the company is looking to expand to other means of ground transportation such as public transport, parking and potentially rental cars, providing a complete one-stop-shop mobility solution at API arm’s length for travel brands.

Johan van Vulpen: “We started by providing private transfer services at unparalleled quality powered by a tech-driven solution. This new funding round will allow us to further invest in our technology and to expand our offerings on the Transferz tech platform, with a wider range of ground transportation options in addition to private transfers. This means our travel partners and their travellers can experience a truly reliable, automated, and sustainable mobility solution.”

Currently, the platform is being used by several of the biggest global travel companies in both the leisure and corporate travel verticals, and this new funding will help to further expand the platform’s reach and impact.

Jan Kees de Jager, one of the lead investors and former minister of Finance of the Netherlands: “We believe that Transferz has the potential to be a game-changer in the pre-booked ground transportation industry, not just in terms of its technology and platform, but also in its commitment to sustainability, An impeccable technology-driven process that provides a delightful experience for travellers – which happens to be the crucial component that lacks in the current travel industry. We’re excited to be part of this journey and look forward to helping Transferz achieve its full potential.”
