Animoca Brands and Manga Productions to develop Web3 projects across MENA region

Animoca Brands and Manga Productions have disclosed signing a memorandum of understanding, or MoU, owing to a strategic collaboration on several initiatives based on activating the exclusive content of Manga Productions in the Web3 space. The partnership also aims at expanding the regional blockchain industry as well as ease cross-access of IPs. 

Both Animoca Brands and Manga Productions will associate across various key areas, with a focus on creating Web3 pilot projects across the extensive ecosystem of Animoca Brands, besides using the superior quality content portfolio of Manga Productions in the Middle East. 

To deliver vocational and educational opportunities to the local talent in useful fields, Animoca Brands will use both its industry and operating resources. The company is in discussions with Saudi Arabian universities to create introductory blockchain courses.

Animoca Brands’ co-founder and executive chairman Yat Siu shared that they are excited to collaborate with Manga Productions and put forward their complementary skills. He added that the partnership is among their first major steps towards growing in the Middle East. They are planning to introduce many initiatives with Manga Productions in real-life along with hoping for more activities in the region via strategic partnerships and investment.

Manga Productions’ CEO, Dr. Essam Bukhary, also expressed his excitement regarding the partnership and taking forward their intellectual properties beyond content into several experiences and applications. He believes that the partnership will develop the creative industry further in the region via Web3 apps and by growing their portfolio of offline and online activations of intellectual properties.

Animoca Brands will also analyze the usefulness of an exclusive regional game publishing platform with local partners, which includes Manga Productions too. The aim behind the plan is to introduce top-notch blockchain game titles into the Middle East and Northern Africa region as well as uplift the worldwide distribution of content developed exclusively by Manga Productions and other Arabian producers.

The MENA region is popular for being a hub for blockchain adoption and technology innovation. The new partnership is a crucial achievement in terms of Animoca Brands’ goals to innovate worldwide digital property rights and welcome more and more users into the world of Web3 virtual economies.
