Basement Dwellers — A NFT Platform Inspired by Meme Culture

Basement Dwellers is an upcoming NFT project inspired by meme culture and gamer stereotypes. Their mission? To sell enough digital art to make it out of their mom’s basement. Oh, and charity. On a serious note, they’ll be investing sales proceeds towards giveaways for NFT holders (including custom gaming PCs and gaming consoles) as well as towards “sweeping the floor” to raise the minimum market value of each Basement Dweller NFT.

Their launch comes at an opportune time as popularity for NFTs (non-fungible tokens) has skyrocketed in recent months. Sales on OpenSea frequently exceed $100 million per day.  

The Basement Dwellers team is also capitalizing on star talent. Their team members have a range of accolades and expertise as competitive e-sports players, Twitch streamers, digital marketing specialists, and veterans from other successful NFT projects. Their lead designer was part of the popular Cryptodads NFT project which currently holds an impressive 1.29 ETH floor (up more than 18x from their 0.07 ETH mint price less than a month ago) and has surpassed more than 8,400 ETH in OpenSea trading volume. Another team member was the dev team leader at Project URS which hit a record-breaking public sale raffle with $33 million deposited from eager buyers.

Momentum for the launch has snowballed quickly, with their Discord server exploding to over 15,000 members in roughly two weeks. Although a firm launch date hasn’t been announced, active Discord members have a chance to win whitelisting access which closes on October 8th. During this NFT drop, Basement Dwellers will release 10,000 randomly generated NFTs from over 200 unique traits. The ‘mint’ price for each will be 0.069 ETH.

Drawing inspiration from DeFi (decentralized finance), the Basement Dwellers team will also be creating a ‘staking’ feature for their NFTs. Stakers will generate rewards that allow them to mint NFTs from their upcoming “Chad” series. Other benefits for stakers include the ability to unlock quests and earn crypto and cash.
