Best-Strains-For-Game-Night

Everyone loves a game night, especially people heading into their 30s and up for some reason. Board games are an underrated pastime and with a group of friends can be one of the most enjoyable ways to spend an evening. Do you know what makes almost everything more enjoyable? That’s right, it’s weed. For those nights when playing sober or a little buzzed just doesn’t bring the stakes high enough. Also really fantastic for complex board games like Settlers of Catan. There’s nothing like obsessively collecting sheep and no other resources until you spectacularly lose the game, I assume. Anyway, here are a few of the very best strains to smoke before you get your board game on.

Green Crack

Let’s start things off with the ultimate bringer of focus and energy. This is a great strain for the more competitive game player. The effect is highly stimulating and energetic allowing your brain to work at 100%. Well, the myth about it only working at 5% etc isn’t true but you get what I mean. Of course, this strain is Sativa dominant and the THC level usually sits between 19 – 20%. This means it can pack a bit of a punch so newer smokers should be wary if they still want to be able to play a few hours into the night. It also has a lovely citrus scent with just a touch of sweetness behind it, a bit like a lemon sherbert. As a plant, she grows vigorously and produces lots of dense buds that are glittering with resin. Green Crack will grow well indoors or outdoors and she has a flowering time of just 58 – 65 days.

Mimosa EVO

This strain is fantastic for socialising and for just having fun. She is an energetic, happy and motivating strain that will keep you awake, alert and enjoying yourself. Again she is Sativa dominant and she is capable of an astonishing 30% THC. However, most of the time she will sit at around 24 – 26%. Definitely still more than enough for most of us. She was created by combining Purple Punch and Clementine so she is about 70% Sativa. The high is so happy and clear-headed that she is often used medicinally by those who suffer from depression, stress or anxiety. She can reduce nastier parts of brain noise while still allowing users to stay active and focused. This is a great strain for playing games like Risk that involve a little more attention. Mimosa EVO has a flowering time of 65 – 70 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Blue Dream

Are you the kind of player that gets ultra-competitive or frustrated when things don’t go your way? Then Blue Dream is probably the best strain for you. She is still cerebral and energetic with an effect that lasts for hours but she is also delightfully calming. The relaxed euphoria is perfect for those who know they tend to get a little too sharp on the rules or may ruin the vibe with a change in mood. Again she is pretty strong with a THC level of 25%. Those with lower tolerances should probably go easy. Blue Dream is one of the top 10 strains in the US and was created by combining Blueberry, Super Silver Haze, Afghani, Thai, and Mexican genetics. Basically, someone thought they would grab all the best strains and mash them together. Interestingly enough this strain is also extremely popular for battling period pain. Blue Dream has a flowering time of 65 – 70 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Lemon Kush

This Indica dominant strain is extremely relaxing and long-lasting with a powerful body and head effect. She is perfect for playing a more chill board game such as Cluedo or Monopoly. Well often Monopoly isn’t chill, but maybe now it can be. She has been extremely popular in Holland since the early 90s, especially amongst medicinal users. The scent and flavour are about what you might expect from a strain called Lemon Kush. Musky yet distinctive citrus with a herbal undertone. There is a lovely heady and dreamy effect to the strain but never fear, it is far from couch-lock or sedative territory. Physically the plants are quite short, usually under 3 feet. This makes them perfect for those who are lacking growing space or trying to be discreet. It creates small but dense buds that are covered in a layer of resin. Lemon Kush should be ready in 8 – 9 weeks and will grow well indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Durban Poison

This strain is extremely creative as well as being uplifting, energetic and cerebral. Durban Poison is perfect for any game that involves a decent amount of thinking or creativity. It could definitely make Pictionary significantly more interesting. This strain originated in South Africa and was then sent to Holland for cultivation. This strain is 100% Sativa because it is completely pure. It is well known not just for its effect but also for its complex flavour. It is a spicy mix of aniseed, cloves and liquorice. She is extremely easy to grow and perfect for even novice growers. She is very versatile and can grow indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse. Her flowering time is around 8 – 9 weeks.

Cinex

This final strain is great for anyone who just isn’t feeling up to game night but doesn’t want to cancel. Cinex is a powerful and uplifting strain that is extremely talkative and social. She also brings along a comfortable euphoria that is fantastic for fighting anxiety. This is especially good for games that are just meant to be a bit of fun like Uno. Perfect for a chill and happy evening with your friends without having to give in to anxiety or depression. Unsurprisingly she is Sativa dominant and once again it has a lovely lemony haze scent and flavour. Cinex can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse and has a flowering time of just 50 – 60 days.
