Best April Fool’s Day CS:GO Pranks

Ropz Joins OG

The day kicked off with a CS:GO user changing everything on his Twitter page to resemble OG’s official handle. Then he posted a tweet announcing Robin “ropz” Kool as the team’s sixth CS:GO player and well the post blew up with many actually falling victim to the April Fool’s Day prank.

It was a well-executed prank that was relevant to the ongoing CS:GO shuffle. OG is currently undergoing a rebuild and is hunting for a new CS:GO player to join their roster. The user crafted a brilliant tweet with a compelling creative to get the better of a lot of unsuspecting users.

Dosia Replaces Sh1ro

Gambit Esports has really taken the top-tier of competitive Counter-Strike by storm, cementing their position as one of the best CS:GO teams in the world after winning the IEM Katowice 2021. A big reason for their win at the tournament was a dominating performance by their young star player Dmitry “sh1ro” Sokolov.

So when Gambit Esports suddenly announced his benching on the afternoon of 1 April 2021, it was a huge shock for the entire CS:GO community. But users almost instantly figured out that it was a prank because they announced Mikhail “Dosia” Stolyarov as sh1ro’s replacement, with the title stating “The XGodfather is back”.

Overall the April Fool’s Day prank was well executed and the effort behind it by the organization was top class, as they released both a custom creative along with a full-length descriptive statement.

Vitality Launching Zywoo Milk

This was hands down one of the most hilarious pranks and a smart one as well. During a BLAST Premier tournament earlier this year Vitality star player Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut was spotted drinking milk while playing and a meme was born, that the secret behind Zywoo’s skill was milk.

Well, Vitality did not have to try hard at all this April Fool’s Day as they build upon this meme, launching ‘ZyMoo’, “a milk for champions”. They jokingly said that it will soon be available “in every shop in your area”. Though users knew from the start it was a prank, it was still brilliantly executed and an enjoyable one.

S1mple Switching To Valorant

Though this was not an officially announced prank by an organization, it was never the less quite hilarious and ‘u/Temporal_PairofSocks’ did a fine job of it. He simply titled a video “S1mple Announces his Move to Valorant” which many knew would be some sort of bait, and yet almost everyone went ahead and clicked it, as it skyrocketed to the top of ‘r/GlobalOffensive’.

These were some of the best CS:GO April Fool’s Day prank that users and organizations alike played on the community, and all of them were brilliant while also making quite a number of users fall for them.
