Ahead of its launch, “The Sandbox” — a subsidiary of Animoca Brands has raised a big sum of $93 million in a Series B funding round. Specifically, the funding event was mainly led by SoftBank’s Vision Fund 2.

With many tech firms at the event including Samsung Next, Galaxy Interactive, True Global Ventures, Liberty City Ventures, Liberty City Ventures, and Com2us, Animoca itself also took part in the series B funding round.

Eventually, the Sandbox achievement came amid Facebook rebranding its parent company as Metaverse (Meta). In fact, this feeling has served as a go-source for the rising ideas of metaverse-related news these days.

Besides, including Sorare’s $680 million and Digital Currency Group’s $700 million of late, Sandbox has reportedly pushed hard in terms of NFT and crypto investments. Moreover, apart from its current $93 million, Sandbox previously generated 144 million worth of NFT sales with about 12,000 unique LAND plot owners.

As the crypto community is still waiting for the launch, Sandbox has been attractive to top personalities and celebrities including Snoop Dogg, The Walking Dead, and many others. It has also won lots of partners with crypto tech firms including Binance exchange and Bored Ape Yacht Club.

Briefly, “The Sandbox” is an Ethereum-based online game that will soon launch into the realm of the blockchain space. In many ways, the game provides a pace of ownership for users to own plots of terrain represented as non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
