Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix 1.21 fixes progression-breaking bugs

Source Node: 810284

The newest patch for the beleaguered Cyberpunk 2077 has a bunch of bug fixes coming into the fold. Cyberpunk 2077 developer CD Projekt Red has rolled out hotfix 1.21 for PC, consoles, and Stadia today, aiming to get rid of some big problems.  Cyberpunk 2077 hotfix 1.21 will focus on a bunch of stuff, but it’s chiefly aimed at fixing a bug blocking player progression. That’s good news, and other changes to gameplay are included in the update too.

This is actually the second fix aimed at a progression-blocking issue. Patch 1.1 had to be rushed out to fix another NPC that blocked players from finishing a key mission. This new hotfix has bug fixes for 29 different quests in the game. Cyberpsycho Sightings, Gigs, Suspected Organized Crime Activities and even the main quest were all affected in some way.

Other fixes include a patch to that infamously annoying problem where cops could spawn behind players. The Night City police have been incredibly buggy, like everything else with this nightmare of a game. Previous patches have tried to make things better, but things are still needed to be done. The changes also addressed an issue with climbing ladders out of water. There are many other instances of minor fixes here. For example, minor visual and UI changes have been added.

The last major patch, version 1.2, was delayed after a major hack of the studio. The alleged hackers stole code and internal files from the company, demanding ransom. That wasn’t the beginning of security nightmares for CD Projekt Red as the game previously had a major bug that could expose modders to security risks.
