“We’re proud to have obtained our SOC 2 Type 2 certification which results from months of hard work by our team,” says Matt Dee, CTO at Direct Care Innovations.

Direct Care Innovations announced today that they completed SOC 2, a voluntary compliance standard for service organizations which specifies how organizations should manage customer data. Developed by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA), this milestone is a major move for Direct Care Innovations on its mission to provide a secure and protected business management platform for caregiving agencies across the United States.

Direct Care Innovations received their SOC 2 Type 2 certification on January 28, 2022. While SOC 2 compliance isn’t a requirement for SaaS and cloud computing vendors, its role in securing data cannot be overstated.

“We’re proud to have obtained our SOC 2 Type 2 certification which results from months of hard work by our team,” says Matt Dee, CTO at Direct Care Innovations. “However, SOC 2 Type 2, unlike Type 1, is not a point in time checkbox report, but is representative of our ongoing commitment to security and compliance to ensure that our systems and processes are up to the task of protecting the data that our customers entrust us with.”

According to the AICPA website, SOC certifications “provide valuable information that users need to assess and address the risks associated with an outsourced service.” Other benefits of this certification for Direct Care Innovations’ clients include:

  • Establishing and following strict information security policies and procedures
  • Verification of security protocols by an independent third party
  • Thorough and secure protection of all data processed by Direct Care Innovations on behalf of their clients
  • Adhering to the Trust Services Criteria for SOC certifications — security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy
