Anthony Di Iorio, Ethereum network’s co-founder, says he is done with crypto, partially due to personal safety concerns. According to Bloomberg, the 48-year old Di Iorio had a security team set up since 2017, with someone traveling with him wherever he goes.
More so, the ETH co-founder plans to sell Decentral Inc. – Canada’s leading blockchain setup, in the coming weeks. Instead, he plans to refocus on philanthropy and other ventures not related to crypto.
Of note, Decentral is a Toronto-based innovation hub and software development company focused on decentralized technologies. They are the maker of Jaxx, a digital asset wallet that acquired about 1 million customers this 2021.
Right now, the Canadian expects to cut ties with the startups he is involved with. Thus, he plans to stop all project-fundings that concern blockchain such as Project Arrow. The ETH co-founder says he wants to diversify to not being a guy tackling complex problems.
Meanwhile, when asked to disclose his crypto holdings or crypto net worth, Anthony Di Iorio said,
It’s got a risk profile that I am not too enthused about. I don’t feel necessarily safe in this space. If I was focused on larger problems, I think I’d be safer. I will incorporate crypto when needed, but a lot of times, it’s not.
Di Iorio co-founded Ethereum, which has become the home of many hottest crypto projects existing right now. Currently, Ether, the native token of Ethereum has a market value of more than $225 billion.
In 2018, he spent a lot of money when he bought the largest & one of the most expensive condominium in Canada. The billionaire even bought a three-story penthouse for $28 million using his digital money. During the same year, Forbes estimated his net worth to $1 billion.
