Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space might be a bit of a mouthful but that compliments the hectic looking gameplay developer Teravision Games has developed. This week the studio revealed the very first gameplay trailer for the tower defence/first-person shooter (FPS), pitting you against all sorts of enemies from T-Rexes to Cyber-C.H.I.C.K.E.N.s.

Captain Toonhead

As you can see in the trailer below, Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space will be a colourfully manic virtual reality (VR) experience where players can lay a selection of defences to halt marauding enemies, utilise weapons directly and upgrade their arsenal to combat evermore increasing waves of difficulty.

Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space keeps the gameplay light-hearted with its weapon choices and artistic style. Emplacements come fully loaded with their own unique blend of firepower, from Sir Frost-EEE a snowball machine gun to Senor Pignatas that flings devastating pig-shaped explosives.

To mark the reveal of the gameplay trailer Teravision Games has confirmed the first public demo of Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space will take place at PAX West 2021 next week. Attendees will get 30 minutes with the videogame as well as being able to grab free trading cards that are exclusive to the event.

“Our team is really hard at work, polishing every last detail of Captain ToonHead vs The Punks from Outer Space to provide an awesome experience right at launch. That means we will miss the summer timeframe. But do not despair, fellow ToonHeads! It will be a short delay!” says Enrique Fuentes, CEO of Teravision Games in a statement. “Meanwhile, we are very excited to put Captain ToonHead in the hands of players at PAX West in Seattle between Sept 3rd and 6th!”

Originally slated for a summer 2021 launch, Captain ToonHead vs the Punks from Outer Space is still on for a 2021 release, Teravision Games just hasn’t said when. It’ll support Oculus Quest, PlayStation VR and PC VR headsets when it does arrive. For continued updates keep reading VRFocus.
