The game sees you punching, kicking, hacking and slashing your way to victory. There’s a panel in the middle of the level, and whichever team holds it long enough to earn four points is declared the winner. How do you hold the square long enough? Whomp your enemies, obviously.
You pick a character from a set of brawlers based on famous faces from fairy tales. Although these aren’t your standard fable protagonists. Instead they’re wielding massive swords, razor sharp scissors and incredibly powerful guns. And it’s up to you to learn how to use them to the utmost of their devastating abilities.
The team-based core of the game means you need to work together with your fellow players if you want to win. There are other modes as well, including a 1v1 duel where it’s you against another champion in a battle to the death. You’re going to have to be fast, furious and precise if you want to come out on top.
Each character has a standard move, a special move and an ultimate, and chaining them together and using them at the right time is an important part of the learning process. Even while you’re learning though you’re going to have loads of fun – Smash Legends is the sort of game that’s going to leave you with a big smile on your face.
