Great First Date Strains

I’m sure many of us aren’t on dating sites, but for those who are you’ve probably seen “420 friendly”. For smokers who are looking for a new romantic partner, weed can be a great way to get to know each other. However, this is an extremely delicate situation. We don’t want anything too strong, too sensual, too sleepy, to high energy. Essentially we want something that can be enjoyed together, that may be a little sexier if it’s that kind of vibe, that is sociable, giggly, that will let you be yourself but not get you too high. No one wants to get ridiculously stoned with a brand new person. These are a few strains that will work perfectly for a first date.

Grandaddy Purple

This strain is perfect for anyone who gets ridiculously nervous before a first date. It is extremely relaxing but is also a strong sedative so just a tiny amount before the date, or during it, is perfect. Be wary not to overdo it or things could get very sleepy very quickly. The THC level is 25 – 35% so I cannot stress enough how careful we need to be. More of a strain for veteran smokers. It was created by crossing Purple Urkle and Big Bud. This means it will not only create beautiful purple plants but plants that produce impressive yields. This strain is also great for treating nausea, pain, anxiety and insomnia. She has a flowering time of 60 – 65 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Cinderella 99

This Sativa dominant strain is perfect for lifting the mood, improving the conversation and making a connection. Cinderella 99 is uplifting, creative, stimulating, cerebral, happy and giggly. This is a great strain for a first date fun activity, something that would normally make you a bit anxious. The high is also very clear and means you won’t both lose track of who or where you are. Maybe you could paint together, go and do some pot throwing, even if you both mess it up it will be a fun and hilarious first date. Cinderella 99 is a mix of Pineapple and Grapefruit, so it is also deliciously fruity and sweet. She grows impressively dense buds that are completely covered in glittering resin. Once again this is a fantastic strain for medicinal users. She has a flowering time of 7 – 8 weeks and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

North Thunderfuck

North Thunderfuck is a slightly heavier but still very uplifting and happy strain. This is a great one for watching a movie or a shared favourite tv show. The THC level is usually around 23% so again maybe one for a lighter joint or heavy smokers. This is a perfect strain for those who aren’t super active but are happy sitting, chatting, laughing and experiencing each other’s company without the block of social anxiety. There can be a bit of a body lock effect so it’s usually a good idea to make sure there is a couch nearby. If you end up being happy enough just giggling away as two puddles of meat together then power to you. However, if you want anything a little more active to come out of the date, maybe don’t overuse North Thunderfuck. This strain has a flowering time of 65 days and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Harlequin CBD

This strain is relaxing, claiming and extremely soothing so great for first date nerves. This is a high CBD strain with low THC so it’s perfect for having a puff pre-date to ensure you feel comfortable and happy. It won’t push too hard and won’t send the brain sideways but will put you in the right place to make a good first impression. The genetic background of this strain is very impressive. It is a combination of Colombian Gold, Thai, Swiss, and Nepali Indica. The CBD level usually sits around 5%+ and the THC at about 6.5%. Medicinally she is used to treat anxiety, pain, PTSD, Fibromyalgia, Insomnia, Multiple Sclerosis, and Arthritis. The flavour and scent is a combination of earth and musk that adds to the calming effect. The flowering time is about 56-63 days and can be grown indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse.

Sweet Skunk

This Spanish strain is another that is perfect for relaxation. Whether that’s together or separately before the date, this can help you connect without all the social anxiety. The high is bodily and powerful with a relaxing head effect. The scent and flavour are a mix of sweet and spice with a hint of incense. The effect is Indica dominant so again don’t overdo it. For those who aren’t heavy smokers, it could end up being more of a hindrance than a help. She was created by combining Early Skunk and Auto Critical Mass, so it is an impatient growers dream. This strain is extremely fast flowering and easy to grow, making it perfect for all sorts of grower and breeder. She has a flowering time of just 7 – 8 weeks and can be grown indoors or outdoors.

Blue Dream

This is a fantastic strain that is used for a wide variety of therapeutic reasons. It is energetic and cerebral as well as long-lasting, so a perfect one for you and your 420 friendly date to share. This strain was created by combining Blueberry, Super Silver Haze, Afghani, Thai, and Mexican. The THC level is definitely at the higher end at 25% so again shouldn’t be overdone. However, in small doses, this is the perfect strain for going on a lovely walk together if the weather is nice, and if it’s raining to snuggle together and watch a good film. This strain is one of the top 10 strains in the US which is nothing to be sniffed at. The yields are amazing and this is also a fantastic strain for muscle pain or menstrual cramps. This strain has a flowering time of 65 – 70 days and it can be grown indoors or outdoors.
