Harvest Moon, the farm and life simulation, is being rebuilt as Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. Finally, it’s coming to PC. The September Nintendo Direct announcement of A Wonderful Life’s remake did not clarify whether it will launch on PC shops. However, a recent trailer announced it.

A Wonderful Life wasn’t the first Harvest Moon game, but it was the first many played on the GameCube and PlayStation 2. Mmain character moves to Forget-Me-Not Valley (Forgotten Valley in the remake) to take over a farm from his (or hers or theirs) deceased father, marrying and having a child while buying fresh crops and animals.

“This reboot of a cherished classic contains loads of new events, upgraded festivals, additional meals to cook, and a cornucopia of never-before-seen crops,” Marvelous adds. “Play as a male, female, or non-binary protagonist, and romance all eligible marriage hopefuls regardless of that choice.”

The remake’s teaser shows a character generator with two clothes, skin colors, hairstyles, and faces

Like the valley, marriage candidates and other characters have changed names. The Harvest Moon-to-Story of Seasons name change’s rights and licensing mess may have caused that. The game’s catchy main tune remains unchanged. Music sets the valley vibe.

A Wonderful Life appears fresher than the previous Story of Seasons version of the 2003 Game Boy game Friends of Mineral Town. The attention to a real character creator, new crops, and open marriage candidates suggests this Story of Seasons game might be an S-grade version.

Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life is scheduled to debut summer 2023 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
