In the Grand Finals of the ESL Pro League Season 13, Heroic took down Gambit to remain undefeated in a $750 thousand CS:GO esports event. The series had two overtime matches and ended with an incredible 1v4 clutch by the team’s captain, Casper “cadiaN” Mølle.

ESL Pro League Season 13

Heroic remained undefeated through the entire tournament after a dominant performance in the group stage. The team then continued its group stage form into the playoffs.

The Grand Finals was an exciting series for Counter-Strike fans. Gambit has been one of the top CS:GO esports teams of 2021 having won the IEM World Championships and the Pinnacle Cup. But Heroic had a better spectacular performance at ESL Pro League Season 13 to claim the championship title.

Heroic vs Gambit Grand Finals

The Grand Finals started with two undefeated teams in Gambit Esports and Heroic. Each team had a 5-0 score in the group stage and won the play-in matches with a 2-0 score. Ultimately, only one team would win the trophy, and in this case, it was the Danish squad.

ESL Pro League Season 13 grand finals started on Inferno and Gambit was quick to run away on the CT side. Despite being down 4-11, Heroic’s players showed resilience and high skill to bring the game to overtime. Eventually Heroic won the Inferno map with a 19-17 score. Gambit also had a dominant Vertigo performance which looked even better due to Heroic’s lack of practice on the map.

Train, the third map of the match, was the most exciting map of the series. The tug of war between the two teams’ CT sides was a treat to watch for CS:GO fans. The impenetrable Gambit CT defense reminded analysts of Astralis’ dominance in previous years. But when the teams swapped sides, Heroic’s aggression and calculated risks allowed the Danes to come back and take the game to overtime.

The map was far from over as the two teams battled it out in a total of four overtimes. Ultimately, Heroic won Train with a 28-26 score and several exciting moments through the 54-round-long map.

Gambit once again won its map pick on Overpass but Heroic had the final say on Mirage. It was a dominant performance by the Danish squad on the final map and CadiaN’s 1v4 clutch performance secured the ESL Pro League Season 13 championship for Heroic.
