India’s medical industry registered a 2.9% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 17.22% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the medical industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 31.25% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 2.31% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in India’s medical industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.25% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s medical industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 80.48% in August 2021, registering a 21.41% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 7.89% share, an increase of 71.43% over the previous month.
3) Computer Support Specialists held a share of 4.17%, registering a 137.5% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.29%, down 25% over the previous month.
Top five medical companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 10.38% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s medical industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
GE Healthcare posted 77 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 6.1% over the previous month, followed by Danaher with 65 jobs and a 32.29% drop. Demant with 54 IT jobs and athenahealth with 33 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 17.86% flat growth, respectively, while Medtronic recorded a decline of 63.86% with 30 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.53%, down by 2.82% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 32.89% share, registered a decline of 29.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 6.36% share, down 35.56% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.22%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
