Into the Breach have decided to part ways with their roster, allowing the Swedish-British mix to explore their options in the market as free agents ahead of the winter tournament break. Additionally, the organization revealed that it is in talks with a new lineup, to be revealed in the first week of January 2023.

The news comes during the team’s involvement in three different events: ESEA Advanced Season 43 Europe, CCT Central Europe Series 4, and Thunderpick Bitcoin Series 2, and it is unclear whether the squad will continue as a unit beyond these tournaments.

Adam “Adam9130” Ahmad‘s team was a consistent presence at the top of the British region but failed to take the next step and crack into the top 30 despite the signings of William “draken” Sundin and Alfred “RuStY” Karlsson in the summer.

draken’s stint with Into the Breach only lasted five months

Into the Breach revamped their earlier roster in July after parting ways with Kirk “Tadpole” Stephens and Yaroslav “isk” Issakov. The team experimented with Thomas “Thomas” Utting and Owen “smooya” Butterfield, but eventually landed on the Swedish duo of draken and RuStY, which immediately propelled them to a trophy run at Assembly Summer 2022. The short burst of form drove Adam9130 and company from the No. 79 spot in the rankings to their all-time peak at No. 41 after a semi-final run at CCT Central Europe Series 2.

The British-Swedish squad eventually ran out of steam and by October they were unable to replicate their early successes. Disappointments at events such as Elisa Invitational Fall 2022, CCT Central Europe Series 3, and CCT North Europe Series 2 dragged the team back down to No. 66 in the rankings.

“Our over year long road with a core U.K. trio comes to an end today, as we say goodbye to our CS:GO roster with immediate effect,” reads team manager Marvin “Punico” Matthes’ statement. “We are finalizing negotiations with a new roster, to be announced in the first week of January. ITB will see you back on the server 2023!”

Into the Breach used to field the following roster:

Sweden William “draken” Sundin
Sweden Alfred “RuStY” Karlsson
United Kingdom Adam “Adam9130” Ahmad
United Kingdom Cai “CYPHER” Watson
United Kingdom William “dobbo” Dobson

Portugal Gustavo “Juve” Alexandre (coach)
