The bowl season gives fans and scouts alike a chance to analyze NFL Draft prospects against solid competition. Bowl scheduling allows all eyes to be on each game. Here are the NFL Draft prospects in the 2022 Sugar Bowl.

Alabama Crimson Tide Draft Prospects

Will Anderson, EDGE

Anderson has played at Alabama for three seasons and made a huge impact in each of them. In his career, Anderson has 204 total tackles, 58.5 tackles for loss and 34.5 sacks. This season, Anderson has totaled 51 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 10 sacks.

He has good size for the position at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds. Anderson has shown to be proficient in both run defending and pass rushing. He may be one of the safer early picks in NFL Draft recent memory. His discipline will have to improve, but there won’t be many negatives listed in his game.

Projected Draft Range: Top 10 Pick

Bryce Young, QB

Young sat for one season behind Mac Jones before starting for the Crimson Tide over the last two seasons. He has passed for 8,035 yards, 75 touchdowns and 12 interceptions on 65.6 percent completion in his career. This season, he has 3,007 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and five interceptions on 64.1 percent completion in 11 games played.

He will be undersized compared to other NFL quarterbacks at 6-foot and 194 pounds. Young has proven to be clutch throughout his Alabama career. He can make NFL-level throws and is able to extend plays by getting out of the pocket and keeping his eyes downfield.

Projected Draft Range: Top 10 Pick

Other Draft Prospects: S Jordan Battle (1-2), RB Jahmyr Gibbs (1-2), CB Eli Ricks (1-2), CB Brian Branch (1-2), S Malachi More (2-3), LB Henry To’o To’o (2-3), OG/C Emil Ekiyor (2-3), TE Cameron Latu (3-5), OG/C Kendall Randolph (4-6), DL Byron Young (4-6), WR Jermaine Burton (5-7), DL Justin Eboigbe (6-UFA), OT Tyler Steen (6-UFA), DL Tim Smith (UFA), S DeMarcco Hellams (UFA), DL DJ Dale (UFA), OG/C Darrian Dalcourt (UFA), DL Stephon Wynn (UFA), K Will Reichard (UFA)

Kansas State Wildcats Draft Prospects

Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE

Anudike-Uzomah has played three seasons for the Wildcats, but has really been a key player for them over the last two years. He has tallied 95 total tackles, 26.5 tackles for loss and 20.5 sacks in his career. This season, he has 44 total tackles, 11 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.

He has decent size for the NFL at 6-foot-3 and 252 pounds, but his measurements at the NFL Combine will be key. Anudike-Uzomah has been a streaky pass-rusher at the college level and has had some very impressive games. He should be selected early in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Projected Draft Range: First Round Pick-Second Round Pick

Julius Brents, CB

Brents started his career off at Iowa before transferring to Kansas State for the last two seasons. In his career, Brents has 109 total tackles, six interceptions and 10 passes defended. He has 43 total tackles, four interceptions and four passes defended in the 2022 season.

At 6-foot-4 and 204 pounds, Brents has elite size for the cornerback position. This has allowed him to matchup with some of the bigger receivers on the outside well. He doesn’t have great quickness or agility, but his height and length really helps him.

Projected Draft Range: Second Round Pick-Fourth Round Pick

Other Draft Prospects: RB Deuce Vaughn (3rd-5th), OG/C Cooper Beebe (3rd-5th), WR Malik Knowles (6th-UFA), P Ty Zentner (UFA), CB Ekow Boye-Doe (UFA), LB Daniel Greene (UFA), QB Adrian Martinez (UFA)
