Now someone’s playing Call of Duty: Warzone with a piano

We’ve seen Call of Duty: Warzone played with a drum kit, we’ve seen it played with a recorder, and now another instrument has joined the fray – as someone is using a piano to rack up kills. At this rate we’ll soon have a full orchestra.

Reddit user grooviehoovie has posted several videos showing the results of his piano-playing efforts, and it seems he’s now able to get some decent kills against regular players. Here’s grooviehoovie playing Warzone, Modern Warfare, and Black Ops Cold War using a piano:

Unsurprisingly, some of the players in the videos seem perplexed by grooviehoovie’s movement – which looks ever so slightly like an aimbot. “It looks like aimbot because I’m using button presses to aim, and my program doesn’t have an option for smoother mouse movement,” grooviehoovie explained. “If u look at my right hand, I’m using D to look left, F to look right, G to look up and B to look down, along with C# and F# added to look left and right more quickly.”

It seems like a fair explanation – but I’m sure grooviehoovie has still been reported more than a few times.

In order to practise effectively, grooviehoovie used the aim trainer KovaaK 2.0 to create a “piano routine” using the tool, allowing him to significantly improve his skills over the course of a month. “It was a terrible idea, but I did learn a lot and improve a decent amount from it lmao,” grooviehoovie said.

This isn’t grooviehoovie’s first time using a piano for murderous means: his YouTube channel WhoovieCOD shows that he’s been experimenting in Black Ops and Warzone for the last couple of months, and even used the piano to beat the Firebase Z Easter egg. Yet just like playing the real instrument, it takes practice to improve your keyboard skills, and we’re now starting to see some of the more spectacular results of that time investment.

If you’re considering training to improve your aim – with either a piano or just with a regular controller – grooviehoovie also shared some useful tips.

“…The best tip i can give is to make a routine, stick to it, and push through the training regardless of whether it is enjoyable or not,” grooviehoovie said. “It is very monotonous and annoying to aim train, but if you want the full benefits of it, it is best to do short focused sessions and really commit to them, rather than non-routine unfocused sessions. Sleep also plays a huge role in improvement (with anything for that matter, you don’t really improve throughout the day at anything).”

Some useful advice for us all, there – and if you need some relaxing music to send you off to sleep, you can always listen to the calming sounds of grooviehoovie sniping people with a piano.
