Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti laptop GPU specifications revealed by Lenovo

Nvidia has been rather silent about their upcoming RTX 3050 series of GPUs, but Lenovo has given us a sneak peek of what to expect from the entry-level Ampere graphics cards. The Chinese PC maker accidentally confirmed the rumors surrounding the release of RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti mobile graphics cards. It even provided some information regarding their specifications. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened, however, as other manufactures such as ASUS also revealed RTX 3050 Ti specs prematurely almost a month ago.
Although Nvidia is yet to make an official announcement, the mobile versions of both the RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3050 were spotted on the product page of Lenovo’s Legion 5 Pro laptops.

According to the tech specifications on Lenovo’s site, both graphics cards will feature 4 GB of GDDR6 memory and a maximum TGP of 95W. In addition, the RTX 3050 and 3050 Ti have boost clock speeds of 1740MHz and 1695 MHz, respectively. The Legion 5 Pro laptops will come equipped with a 16-inch display and up to a Ryzen 7 5800H CPU. The listings for models featuring the two unreleased graphics cards were only displayed briefly before Lenovo took them down. In the time it took for the site to update, screenshots detailing the GPU specifications had already spread.

RTX on a budget

These cards will likely have the least performance from the Ampere series. However, they can be a great option for entry-level gaming laptops with ray tracing and DLSS capabilities.  The RTX 3050 series seeks to establish itself as a value option that will almost certainly be included in budget gaming laptops and PC builds. Although there were no details on when these cards will start popping up on shelves, some sources suggest that they could be released by next month.  Lenovo is one of the first PC makers to reveal information about the upcoming graphics cards. But it’s safe to assume Nvidia will make an official announcement very soon.
