Watch players, as well as pros, participate in a variety of unique VR challenges featuring popular Oculus Quest 2 titles.

There’s no better way to showcase the immersive capabilities of VR than mixed reality capture. The technology allows audiences to gain a better understanding of what it’s like to interact with the in-game world, especially when compared to standard POV capture. To help exhibit its extensive lineup of AAA games and apps, Oculus today launched a new mixed reality series featuring popular games such as Cook-Out, FitXR, and Thrill of the Fight just to name a few.

Available now on Oculus Quest headsets, Game On: VR Face Off! has both players as well as pros engaging in five different VR games throughout six unique episodes. Episode 1, available now on Oculus TV, features game streamers MissesMae and Di3seL as they face off (oh I get it now) in several rounds of Cloudhead Games’ VR rhythm shooter Pistol Whip. The loser is tasked with completing a ridiculous challenge; I won’t spoil it for you here. Episode 2 includes another Pistol Whip challenge, this time featuring the skills of Facebook streamer Rasta La Vistah.

Episode 3 is where things start to get interesting. In this episode, professional dancer Alyson Stoner tries her hand at the VR rhythm game OhShape!. In Episode 4, standup comic Pat Quinn trades in his mic for a headset and goes hands-on with the VR fitness game FitXR.

Episode 5 switches things up with Thrill of the Fight. Instead of recruiting a seasoned gamer, Oculus enlisted the help of martial arts expert Jesse Fox to help showcase the realism of the popular VR boxing simulator. In the 6th and final episode, professional chef Deanne Colón turns up the heat against professional gamer Smush as they go head-to-head in the chaotic cooking game Cook-Out.

Episode 1 ofGame On: VR Face Off! is available now on Oculus Quest headsets via Oculus TV, YouTube, and Facebook. New episodes will be released on a weekly basis. For more information on the mixed reality capture series visit here.
