Onic and RRQ look to settle a score at MPL ID Season 8 Week 5

Mobile Legends Professional League Indonesia has passed the midway point in Season 8 as we now move on to Week 5 of the Regular Season.

Another week has come and passed in MPL ID Season 8, as the teams now set themselves up for Week 5 of the Regular Season, with only four weeks now remaining until playoffs get underway. For some, things remain dire at the bottom of the standings, while others look to continue to forge a path through every challenger and hopefully become the champions – unlocking their road to the M3 World Championships.

Friday, September 10

–          Bigetron Alpha versus Rebellion Genflix

–          Geek Fam versus Alter Ego

With the midway point in the season now behind us, we start to see a lot of repeat series in MPL ID Season 8 – with the first two from Friday being rematches of Week 1. Since then, Alter Ego have cruised past every opponent, unstoppable and unrelenting in their pursuit for a MPL championship title. Although things have certainly become tougher for AE, as teams begin to find their own footing, they have not faltered, apart from a few dropped games along the way. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Geek Fam, who have only a single victory under their belt – that being over the struggling newcomers, Rebellion Genflix.

Saturday, September 11

–          Onic versus Aura

–          Rex Regum Qeon versus Bigetron Alpha

–          Rebellion Genflix versus Alter Ego

Aura’s performances have been extremely shaky in Season 8, winning against the struggling teams, but unable to hold their own against the likes of EVOS Legends, RRQ and Onic. However, a strong showing in their rematch against Onic could be just what the team need to begin their ascent. They will need to put everything that they have into taking down Onic but keep something in the bank for their second series this week against EVOS on Day 3. All-in-all, a really tough Week 5 for the squad.

Sunday, September 12

–          Aura versus EVOS Legends

–          Rex Regum Qeon versus Onic

As mentioned previously, Aura will have a rough time going up against EVOS Legends in their second series of the week, while EVOS look to get their Regular Season on track. That said, the big series is the one to close out Week 5, between RRQ and Onic. While Onic had a great start to the season, things have become a little rough over the past few weeks. The team have a shot at completing a double over their Sunday opponents, but RRQ have begun to build up a head of steam recently. With their last loss being to Onic in Week 2, RRQ have pummeled through even EVOS to now stand toe-to-toe with possibly their biggest rival currently.

MPL Indonesia Season 8 will kick off its Week 5 action on Friday, September 10th, with all the teams definitely doing their final preparations before it gets underway. It will be interesting to see if anyone can stop Alter Ego, though it is unlikely to be seen in Week 5 – but upsets can happen and teams can quickly fall apart. We are excited for more MLBB action from MPL ID Season 8 as the Regular Season starts to wind down towards Playoffs.
