The Lich Mythic Path in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, once you’re able to unlock it, tends to be fairly memorable. With it, you can roleplay as a master of death, wielding the powers of necromancy and letting your minions do your bidding. Likewise, apart from skeletal champions, you’re given new options when “raising” certain characters to become party members. Here’s our Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Lich undead companions guide to help you recruit unique Grave Guard buddies in the campaign.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Lich undead companions guide

To get Lich undead companions in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, you’ll need to complete the Ziggurat and Pillar of Skulls projects (via the Crusade panel). Moreover, you’ll want to take note of the possible instances where specific dialogue responses are required.

Staunton Vhane

  • Stage: Act 3 or Act 5
  • Location: Drezen

To be clear, you’ll already have run-ins with Staunton Vhane early on in the campaign. However, the opportunity to have him as a Lich undead companion in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous occurs at the start of Act 3. Basically, you’ll have no choice but to kill him at the end of the previous chapter. Then, once Act 3 begins, Irabeth will tell you that Staunton Vhane’s corpse is in the prison of Drezen (the same area where you rescued Arueshalae). If you pick the Lich dialogue option, you can tell Irabeth that you have plans for the corpse. Eventually, you’ll get the opportunity to reanimate him as an Undead servant upon completion of the aforementioned projects.

Alternatively, you’ll have another shot come Act 5. Once again, you’ll be making your way through a ruined Drezen. There, you’ll come across a reanimated Staunton Vhane who’s thirsty for vengeance. You can pick the Lich option at this stage.

Delamere

  • Stage: Act 3
  • Location: Temple of the Good Hunt

There’s a Lich undead companion in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous named Delamere (Undead Ranger). To get here, just travel to the Temple of the Good Hunt west of Drezen. Inside, you’ll find a cultist. You can either get the key to the crypt via diplomatic skill checks or by killing him. Next, interact with the statue to open the crypt. Down below, you’ll find a sarcophagus with the corpse of the priestess Delamere. You may then bring her back to (un)life via a dialogue response. Unfortunately, you can’t do anything else except let her go or lay her to rest, assuming the projects haven’t been completed yet.

Ciar

  • Stage: Act 3
  • Location: Drezen/Ziggurat

The Crusader Ciar can join your roster in Act 3. When checking the Pillar of Skulls, you should get a hint on how he can be provoked. Then, when talking to him as a Lich, you’ll be able to antagonize him further. Eventually, Ciar and his troops will attack the Ziggurat. Kill him and have him serve you.

Kestoglyr

  • Stage: Act 4
  • Location: Colphyr Mines

You’ll encounter Kestoglyr in the lower area of Colphyr Mines, which is a dungeon that you’ll go to at the very end of Act 4. When you see him, choose the initial Lich option, though you still need to fight him afterward. Once he’s defeated, pick the Lich response again to raise him as your soldier. He won’t join you immediately, but he’ll show up later after you’ve finished the act.

One more thing of note is that, as far as I know, the initial Lich reply to Kestoglyr (i.e., examine Kestoglyr) only occurs if you were captured, which means failing some checks in the storybook sequence. In my playthrough where I succeeded in all the checks, my team spawned in another area of Colphyr Mines, which led to an instant battle against Kestoglyr and co. when I spotted them (i.e., no initial Lich examine option).

Queen Galfrey

  • Stage: Act 5
  • Location: Iz

The last Lich undead companion in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is none other than Queen Galfrey. If you went down the evil route, then she’s undoubtedly become a thorn on your side. You can eliminate her when you make your way to the Iz dungeon.

Ideally, you’ll want to prioritize the area where she is (i.e., either the Temple of Stone Manuscripts or Terendelev’s Arena depending on whether you gave her the Lexicon of Paradox or not). Talk to her, which should present the option to kill her outright. You can follow it up by raising her as your cursed warrior.
