The latest installment of the popular block-filling puzzle game by Jupiter, Picross S Series, returns with Picross S6 and a new batch of puzzles. Per the game’s trailer, Picross S6 will be available for download on the Nintendo Switch eShop on April 22.

For the most part, the latest installment keeps all the regular fixings of Jupiter’s rendition of the nonogram game. It will bring 300 puzzles between regular Picross and its larger counterpart, Mega Picross. There will be 30 Color Picross puzzles — a form of the game that adds a layer of complexity by incorporating colors, 150 Clip Picross puzzles, and 5 super larger Extra Puzzles. Players will also be able to unlock additional Extra Puzzles if they link their play data with earlier versions of the game like Picross S, Picross S2, Picross S3.

The popular puzzle game has been slowly refining its features over time, and this version will work in a small quality of life to larger puzzles. Units of 10 squares on the grid will be highlighted in different colors when playing larger grids from the Extra Puzzles section, making it easier for players to count.

Picross has long been implemented in a variety of ways, with some games adding story and adventures in-between filling out puzzles. There are also a variety of versions that you can find for free on your phone.

However, these versions by Jupiter for the Switch are pretty slick and feel great to play, especially if you want a console version of the game that refrains from telling a story and instead focuses on the puzzle aspects.
