ASX-listed fintech Plenti have announced a new partnership established with AGL, offering customers a renewable energy solution with interest-free payment plans for financing solar and home battery systems.

The partnership will make solar battery systems more accessible to Australian consumers via AGL, with a simplified customer journey a designed to accelerate the way towards a clean energy future.

Plenti CEO Daniel Foggo said, “We’re delighted to be working with AGL in a strategic partnership that reflects our wholesale commitment to a more sustainable future for Australia. Together we’re providing a solution that makes solar and home battery systems more accessible for Australian households, allowing customers to save on their power bills while helping the environment at the same time.”

The partnership with AGL is an important step in Plenti’s ongoing provision of innovative energy solutions, including its role as delivery finance partner for the New South Wales Government’s Empowering Homes pilot program and South Australia’s Home Battery Scheme.

“Joining forces with a major energy retailer such as AGL means we can get more solar and home battery systems into households and help Australia transition more rapidly to a net zero future,” said Foggo.

Customers who purchase these renewable products will be able to access AGL’s virtual power plant and utilise the energy stored in its network of connected solar batteries. In addition, eligible customers can receive payment for allowing AGL to access power stored by their batteries, typically during times of peak electricity demand.

The new interest-free finance product has a fast and convenient application process, on-the-spot approvals for eligible borrowers and flexible loan terms of up $30,000 over five years.

AGL Chief Customer Officer, Christine Corbett aded, “We understand that the initial cost of renewable products for the home can be a significant investment, but this partnership provides customers with more options as in the long run many consumers who invest in renewable products return savings through reduced household energy bills.”

The new zero interest finance product for solar and home batteries will be available to AGL customers from 1 February 2022.
