This article summarizes everything that has been revealed so far by the Shiba Inu ($SHIB) team about their upcoming card game, which is called “Shiba Eternity”.

Here is what Binance Academy says about Shiba Inu:

Shiba Inu (SHIB) is a dog-themed meme cryptocurrency named after a Japanese dog breed. It was created in 2020 by an anonymous developer named Ryoshi, who designed SHIB to be an alternative to Dogecoin (DOGE) on the Ethereum blockchain.

SHIB is an ERC-20 token with a decentralized exchange called ShibaSwap. The SHIB roadmap and ecosystem also features an NFT art incubator called Shiba Artist Incubator, 10,000 ‘Shiboshi’ NFTs, and an NFT game Shiboshi Game.

Shiba Inu had an initial circulating supply of 1 quadrillion tokens. Ryoshi locked 50% of the token in Uniswap to create liquidity, and sent the other 50% to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin’s wallet. However, Vitalik decided to burn 90% of the coins and donate the remaining 10% to charity.

On 27 November 2021, Shytoshi Kusama, the pseudonymous lead for the ShibaInu project explained how the team is preparing to make a very impressive entrance into the world of gaming.

In a Medium blog post titled “The Future of Gaming Is Shib”, Shytoshi started by saying that although he could not provide “exact” about the game that his team is building (because of concerns over how quickly many other people would try to steal the concept), he did reveal that their new games division — Shiba Inu games — has hired legendary veteran video game designer and developer William David Volk to lead the design and implementation of the game, which is being developed by a “AAA Game Studio”.

Volk — former VP of Technology at Activision — who indicates on his LinkedIn page that he has been working on a freelance basis for Shiba Inu Games since the start of the month, had this to say:

I am honored to be working with an amazing team on what will become one of the most significant games of all time.

Shytoshi noted that this would “provide unique opportunities within the Shiba Inu Ecosystem ($SHIB, $LEASH & $BONE), while Shiba Inu Games remains completely separate from this activity”. Furthermore, he pointed out that “the revenue gained from Shiba Inu Games in-app purchases also provides opportunities for Shib & Leash burns”.

The Shiba Inu project turned two years old on Tuesday (August 2):

On the same day, the Shiba Inu team revealed several important details about the upcoming game, namely that Shiba Enternity is a collectible card game (CCG) that is being developed in collaboration with world-renowned AAA game development studio PlaySide Studios. This game will be released for both iOS and Android.

In case you have not heard any experience with this type of game before, here is a description from Wikipedia:

A collectible card game (CCG), also called a trading card game (TCG) among other names, is a type of card game that mixes strategic deck building elements with features of trading cards, introduced with Magic: The Gathering in 1993...

“Generally a player may begin playing a CCG with a pre-made starter deck, and then customize their deck with a random assortment of cards acquired through booster packs, or from trading with other players, building up their own library of cards. As a player obtains more cards, they may create new decks from scratch from their library.

Players are challenged to construct a deck within limits set by the CCG’s rules that will allow them to outlast decks constructed by other players. Games are commonly played between two players, though multiplayer formats are also common.

Gameplay in CCG is typically turn-based, with each player starting with a shuffled deck and on their turn, drawing and playing cards to attack the other player and reduce their health points to zero before their opponent can do the same to them.Dice, counters, card sleeves, or play mats are used to complement gameplay. CCG tournaments exist for expert players to compete for prizes.

CCGs are typically themed around fantasy or science fiction genres, and have also included horror themes, cartoons, and sports, and may include licensed intellectual properties. Cards in CCGs are specially designed sets of playing cards. Each card within the CCG represent an element of that theme geared towards the gameplay of the CCG, and can fall in categories such as creatures, enhancements, events, resources, and locations.

And here is a brief description of Shiba Enternity from the Shiba Inu Discord channel:

Shiba Eternity features 10,000 Shiboshi heroes, jaw-dropping visuals, hundreds of uniquely beautiful cards, action-packed battles, and an awe-inspiring lore-driven environment that draws you into each heart-stopping encounter.
