The Australian Pavillion Returns to Singapore Fintech Festival — Here’s What to Expect

The Australia Pavilion returns for the first in-person SFF since 2019 and Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) is gearing up an extensive programme for visitors to look forward to at the upcoming Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF).

Joining Austrade as co-exhibitors are Fintech Australia, The RegTech Association, Global Victoria, Invest New South Wales, and the largest fintech hub in the Asia Pacific, Stone & Chalk.

There will be over 60 Australian delegates from more than [35] companies from a variety of sectors, including blockchain, cybersecurity, environmental, social, and governance (ESG), insurtech, payment, regtech, wealthtech, and more.

“We’re proud to showcase the best and brightest Australian fintechs this year at SFF22” said Stephen Skulley, Senior Trade and Investment Commission, Austrade Singapore.

Australia is home to one of the fastest-growing fintech sectors in the world, with more than 800 fintechs, and is currently sixth in the global fintech ranking.

The diverse line-up of Aussie companies will be at the Pavilion from 2 to 4 November.  Some of the rising stars includes hyper-personalised, on-demand insurance investment provider Day by Day, decentralised derivative smart contracts platform Mycelium, subscription payments provider Ezypay; zero-trust data collaboration platform Karlsgate; fintech/neobank Yondr Money; Global alternative investment provider Stropro; Australia’s first women-focused funding marketplace LIFTwomen Group; finalists at MAS Global FinTech Hackcelerator 2022 – Civic Ledger (a peer-to-peer community water exchange) and givvable (supplier sustainability and ESG tracking platform) and more.

There will be 15-minute pitch sessions from the companies and open networking over the three-day festival. There is even a brand wall for selfies with connections between old and new at the first reunion of the world’s most impactful fintech event.

On the second day, Austrade will be chairing a special segment at the World FinTech Festival – Ecosystem stage with speakers from Karslgate, Spenda and MoneyCatcha. Running from 11.30 am to 12 pm, they will discuss about Australia’s Consumer Data Right and how it is home to the world’s most comprehensive open finance model.

A recent Australian Fintech Survey Report 2022 by KPMG found that 60 percent of the surveyed fintech companies employed teams from overseas. 

Of those, 34 percent outsourced their engineering teams, and 23 percent have their sales and marketing teams outside the country.  

Australia-Singapore Fintech Bridge Agreement

Last April, the Australian Treasury and the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) signed the Australia-Singapore Fintech Bridge Agreement for mutual enhancement and support in developing the fintech ecosystems and market expansion in both countries. 

With the Fintech Bridge committed to being a living agreement, exciting new opportunities abound, making the Australia Pavilion a must-visit to get you started and inspired.

The Australia Pavilion will be at the Singapore Expo, Hall 5, F17, from 2 to 4 November 2022

Last year, the Australia e-Pavilion and virtual SFF received 60,000 attendees from more than 160 countries. The event also recorded over 2 million global views of live broadcasts, TV networks, and social media. View this e-booklet to learn more about the participating Australian fintechs.

This year, the SFF expects attendees and participants from over 7,500 organisations worldwide, with more than 300 exhibitors from the private and public sectors.
