Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff claimed that they helped invent Bitcoin and these claims came after years of being a subject to a long-running gag in the crypto space, portraying them as omnipotent market forces. French TV personalities and ex theoretical physicists Igor and Grichka Bogdanoff claim they knew about Satoshi Nakamoto and were involved with the creation of the crypto. Grichka said during a TV show:

“Igor and I, as mathematicians, were able to participate in the elaboration of some of the source code, especially the ‘predictive code.”

The two brothers worked with Francois Mizzi who invented the touchscreen back in the 90s and worked with a Japanese scientist Soitchiro Shimoda who was reportedly close to someone know as Nakamoto. The Bogdanoff twins said they will discuss ideas about digital currency but they never specified any details. The Bogdanoff twins claimed that Satoshi gave them two ancient Bitcoins in physical form. The editor in chief of the French crypto media outlet Journal du COin, Hellmouth Banner, said that the claims could be taken with a pinch of salt in terms of credibility because the twins are equivalent to a scientific version of the “Kardashian family.”

The Bogdanoff twins rose to prominence in France as they were hosts of the science education show xTempts in the 80s. Banner said:

“Their atypical look and their often offbeat and original statements make them good recruits to attract audiences.”

Despite the bold claims about their involvement with BTC, the twin’s mention of their investment in ETH attracted even more attention. The brothers became popular after a series of parody videos in 2018 which portrayed them as omnipotent market across that conspire against the average crypto trader. Also back in 2015, a popular meme came out on Reddit when a user posted a photo of the twins with the title “How do they think is attractive” in regards to their looks. A 4chan user later posted a made-up list of conspiracy theories about the brothers like the ability to control the French prime minister and connections with the Rothschilds. The conspiracy theories emerged when a photo of Grichka emerged speaking on the phone and now that photo will become an NFT. Igor Bogdanoff suggested:

“It is probably Nakamoto who made [the photo] circulate.”

The Bogdanoff Twins also announced they will launch crypto called Exo-Coin but they didn’t share any more details.
