Latest Hotfix – April 20th Update Nerfs Sanguine Depths

The next WoW Shadowlands update isn’t the largest, but it does make some significant changes nerfing Sanguine Depths, largely considered one of the most challenging Mythic dungeons since launch.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Sanguine Depths
    • [With regional restarts] Dark Acolyte’s Dark Bolt cast time increased to 2 seconds (was 1.5 seconds).
    • [With regional restarts] Chamber Sentinel’s Craggy Fracture damage reduced by 20%, is cast less frequently, and now targets fewer players.
    • [With regional restarts] Za’rali’s Shining Radiance now removes all bleed effects, including Severing Slice and Grievous (Affix). The tooltip will be updated in a future patch to reflect this change.
    • [With regional restarts] Fixed an issue where Sinfall Boon’s buff increased from killing non-combat creatures.
    • Grand Proctor Beryllia
      • Fixed an issue that caused Endless Torment to be cast multiple times in a row.
    • General Kaal
      • [With regional restarts] Reduced the periodic damage of Wicked Gash by 33%.
  • Spires of Ascension
  • Fixed an issue where throwing a spear at Devos would fail to register a hit when it looked like it should.

Shadowlands 9.1 Patch Notes Revealed in PTR Update

WoW Shadowlands 9.1 may be closer than we think, as we now have an official set of patch notes with the update heading to the PTR now!

CLASSES

Druid

  • Balance
    • New Moon (Talent) now has 20 second recharge (was 25 seconds).
    • Solstice (Talent) now causes Shooting Stars to fall 200% more often (was 300%).
    • Stellar Drift (Talent) has been redesigned – Starfall damage increased by 25% and allows you to cast while moving while Starfall is active, but it has a 15 second cooldown.
    • The free Starfall from Oneth’s Clear Vision (Runecarving Power) ignores the Stellar Drift (Talent) Starfall cooldown.
  • Balance of All Things (Runecarving Power) now grants 24% increased critical strike chance (was 40%) and decreases by 3% every 1 second (was 8% every 1 second).

Mage

  • Fire
    • Flamestrike damage reduced by 10%.
    • Flame Patch (Talent) damage reduced by 10%.
    • Kindling (Talent) cooldown reduction for Combustion reduced to 1 second (was 1.5 seconds).
  • Infernal Cascade (Conduit) Fire damage bonus reduced by 20%.

Priest

  • Discipline
    • Spirit Shell (Talent) cooldown increased to 90 seconds (was 60 seconds).
  • Holy
    • Symbol of Hope has been redesigned – Bolster the morale of party or raid members within 40 yards. They each recover 60 seconds of cooldown on a major defensive ability, and they regain 12% of their missing mana over 5 seconds.
  • Shadow
  • Dissonant Echoes (Conduit) now grants 20% increased Void Bolt damage (was 35%).

Rogue

The shield from Cloaked in Shadows (Conduit) is now 50% larger, lasts for 4 seconds (previously had no duration) and no longer decays while the Rogue is out of stealth.

Warlock

Dark Pact’s (Talent) additional absorb shield has been increased by 216%.

  • Destruction
    • Chaos Bolt damage increased by 10%.
  • Affliction
    • Malefic Rapture damage reduced by 18%.
    • Agony damage increased by 20%.
    • Shadow Embrace now lasts 16 seconds (was 12 seconds) and can now only be applied to 1 target at a time.
    • Focused Malignancy (Conduit) effectiveness reduced by 53%.
  • Sacrolash’s Dark Strike (Runecarving Power) has been redesigned – Corruption damage is increased by 25% (was 15%), and each time Corruption deals damage, it extends the duration of all your Curses active on the target by 2 seconds (was Corrupted targets movement speed slowed by 50%).

COVENANTS

  • New Covenant Campaign Chapters
  • 40 new Renown levels
  • Soulbinds
    • New Soulbind Tiers
      • All existing Soulbinds now have 4 new rows:
        • 3 new Conduit slots (1 Potency, 1 Endurance, and 1 Finesse)
        • 2 new Traits
        • 1 Capper Trait
    • Kyrian
      • Soulsteel Clamps (Forgelite Prime Mikanikos) now reduces duration of stun and incapacitate effects by 20% (was 30%).
      • Sparkling Driftglobe Core (Forgelite Prime Mikanikos) cooldown increased to 1 minute (was 45 seconds) and now triggers at 30% health (was 35%).
    • Necrolord
      • Sulfuric Emission (Emeni) fear duration reduced to 3.5 seconds (was 4.5 seconds).
    • Venthyr
  • Familiar Predicaments (Nadjia the Mistblade) now reduces incoming interrupt, snare and root effects by 20% (was 25%).

DUNGEONS AND RAIDS

ITEMS AND REWARDS

  • The Empyreal Ordnance trinket now puts other on-use trinkets on a 40 second cooldown when used (was 20 seconds).

PLAYER VERSUS PLAYER

Death Knight

  • Frost
    • New PvP Talent: Shroud of Winter.
  • Heartstop Aura (PvP Talent) has been removed.

Mage

  • Kleptomania (PvP Talent) is now Arcane only.
  • Dampened Magic (PvP Talent) has been removed.
  • Arcane
    • New PvP Talent: Arcanosphere.
    • Arcane Blast now deals 20% more damage in PvP combat.
  • Fire
    • New PvP Talent: Ring of Fire.
    • Controlled Burn (PvP Talent) has been redesigned – Ignite deals 100% more damage while Combustion is not active.
    • World in Flames (PvP Talent) now causes Flamestrike to reduce the cast time of Flamestrike by 50% (was 1.25 seconds) and increases its damage by 30% for 3 seconds (was 20% permanently).
  • Frost
    • New PvP Talent: Ice Wall.
    • Frostbolt now deals 100% more damage in PvP combat (was 15%).
    • Deep Shatter (PvP Talent) now increases the damage of Frostbolt by 75% on Frozen targets (was 150%).
  • Burst of Cold (PvP Talent) now increases the damage of Cone of Cold by 600% (was 400%).

Monk

  • Mistweaver
    • New PvP Talent: Peaceweaver.
    • New PvP Talent: Dematerialize.
    • New PvP Talent: Thunderous Tea.
    • Counteract Magic (PvP Talent) has been redesigned – Each hostile Magic effect removed from a target increases the healing they receive from you by 2% for 10 seconds, stacking up to 10 times.
    • Refreshing Breeze (PvP Talent) has been redesigned – Healing done by Soothing Mist increases the healing of the next Expel Harm on the target during the channel, and causes it to dispel 1 Magic, Poison, or Disease effect.
    • Eminence (PvP Talent) has been redesigned – Transcendence: Transfer can now be cast while stunned and its cooldown is decreased by 15 seconds if it is cast while not stunned.
  • Surging Mist (PvP Talent) has been removed.

Priest

New PvP Talent: Improved Mass Dispel.

  • Shadow
    • Lasting Plague (PvP Talent) has been removed.

Rogue

Mark of the Master Assassin (Runecarving Power) duration has been reduced by 40% in PvP combat.

  • Assassination
    • New PvP Talent: Hemotoxin.
    • Neurotoxin (PvP Talent) has been removed.

Warlock

New PvP Talent: Shadow Rift.

  • Affliction
    • Soul Shatter (PvP Talent) has been removed.
  • Demonology
    • New PvP Talent: Fel Obelisk.
    • Call Fel Lord (PvP Talent) now deals 200% of the caster’s Spell Power per swing (was 5% of target’s maximum health). Cooldown of the ability increased to 2 minutes (was 1.5 minutes).
    • Singe Magic (PvP Talent) has been removed.
  • Destruction
    • New PvP Talent: Bonds of Fel.
    • Chaos Bolt now deals 40% more damage in PvP combat (was 15%).
  • Focused Chaos (PvP Talent) has been removed.

RUNECARVING

  • New Runecarving Powers
    • Death Knight, Druid, Warrior and Mage have new powers available in this PTR build.

March 26th Update Brings Some Balance Changes

The latest WoW Shadowlands hotfix pushed some new class balance changes live – buffing all tank specs including Brewmaster Monk, Protection Paladin, Guardian Druid, Blood Death Knight, Protection Warrior, Vengeance Demon Hunter, as well as some Warlock changes.

  • Improved the auto-targeting of player spells that are intended to avoid out-of-combat enemies. This hotfix includes further enhancements to the 9.0.5. changes that reduced spells pulling extra enemies.
  • Death Knight
    • Blood
      • [With regional restarts] Veteran of the Third War (Rank 2) now also reduces all damage taken by 10% in non-PvP situations.
  • Demon Hunter
    • Vengeance
      • [With regional restarts] Fixed an issue where both the Havoc and Vengeance versions of Demonic Wards were being applied to Vengeance Demon Hunters.
      • [With regional restarts] Fixed an issue where the Havoc version of Shattered Souls was being applied to Vengeance Demon Hunters.
      • [With regional restarts] Demonic Wards (Rank 1) damage reduction increased to 10% (was 5%) in non-PvP situations.
  • Druid
    • Guardian
      • [With regional restarts] Ursine Adept now also reduces all damage taken by 10% in non-PvP situations.

    • Demonic Circle, Grimoire: Felguard (Talent), Mortal Coil (Talent), and Summon Infernal will no longer be placed on a very long cooldown when interrupted and affected by a Death Knight’s Heartstop Aura or Delirium.

  • [With regional restarts] Vanguard now also reduces all damage taken by 10% in non-PvP situations.

Items and Rewards

  • Soul Ash no longer has a cap on the amount that can be held at one time.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue where players who died on the final stage of the Tyrande’s Ascension scenario during the quest “In Darkest Night” would release to the incorrect location.

March 25th Update Fixes Bugs for Mythic Dungeons, Demon Hunters, Monks, Paladins

Here is the latest Shadowlands update’s patch notes, which brings some important bug fixes for Demon Hunter, Monk, and Paladin as well as many Mythic Dungeon changes.

Classes

  • Death Knight
    • Chains of Ice will once again be removed from the target when spells like Blessing of Freedom are used.
  • Demon Hunter
    • Fixed an issue where Spirit of the Darkness Flame (Runecarving Power) would not heal when Fiery Brand is cast.
    • Fixed an issue where the damage from The Hunt’s (Night Fae Ability) damage-over-time effect was not increased by Momentum (Talent).
  • Monk
    • Windwalker
      • Keefer’s Skyreach’s (Runecarving Power) critical strike increase is now properly applied by, and affects your Storm, Earth, and Fire spirits.
      • Hit Combo (Talent) properly increases the damage of Chi Explosion (Jade Ignition Runecarving Power).
      • Storm, Earth, and Fire spirits now also cast Chi Explosion (Jade Ignition Runecarving Power).
      • Fixed an issue that could prevent Chi Explosion (Jade Ignition Runecarving Power) from striking large monsters.
  • Paladin
  • Blessing of Sacrifice is now properly displayed on Raid Frames when talented into Ultimate Sacrifice (PvP Talent).

Covenants

  • Fixed an issue where some players could complete the quest “Home Improvement” earlier than was intended, which could cause issues with other quests in the campaign chapter “Sinfall.”

Creatures and NPCs

  • Forgehand Phillo in Elysian Hold, Goreguts in the Seat of the Primus, Craftsmaster Lamda in the Heart of the Forest, Guy Yearmo in Sinfall, and Aggressor Zo’dash in Oribos now all use the Item Upgrades title to more clearly reflect their functionality.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Battle of Dazar’alor
    • Fixed an issue that would prevent players from being able to queue into Victory or Death on Raid Finder difficulty.
  • Castle Nathria
    • Huntsman Altimor
      • Huntman’s Bond is now recorded in the combat log.
    • Sun King’s Salvation
      • The target for Ember Blast is now recorded in the combat log.
    • Sire Denathrius
      • Fixed an issue where players who fell off the platform could Neutralize their allies on Mythic difficulty.
  • De Other Side
    • Fixed an issue where the Atal’ai Hoodoo Hexxer’s Lightning Discharge could inadvertently damage player pets and guardians.
  • Mists of Tirna Scithe
  • Fixed an issue where Mind Link would occasionally get stuck on one player if the other Mind Linked player died.

Torghast, Tower of the Damned

  • Anima Powers

      • Fixed an issue where Deadeye Satchel would have a limited duration.

March 22nd Update Brings Hunter Buffs, Nathria Changes & more

The latest WoW Shadowlands hotfix arrived on March 22nd, and it brings some massive balance changes, most especially some big hunter buffs!

Here are the latest WoW Shadowlands update’s patch notes:

  • Concentration Aura again no longer incorrectly reduces the duration of Anti-Magic Shell.
    • Developers’ notes: This is a repeat hotfix, which was first made on February 4, but was unintentionally missing from patch 9.0.5.
  • Hunter [with weekly maintenance in each region]
    • Beast Mastery
      • Beast Cleave now causes your pet to strike other targets for 90% of your pet’s damage (was 75%).
    • Marksmanship
      • Aimed Shot damage increased by 5%, and Trick Shots now causes your Aimed Shot or Rapid Fire to ricochet for 55% of the damage (was 50%).
  • Monk [with weekly maintenance in each region]
    • Windwalker
      • Spinning Crane Kick damage increased by 15% (was 10%) per unique target you’ve struck in the last 20 seconds (was 15 seconds) with Tiger Palm, Blackout Kick, or Rising Sun Kick.
      • Resolved an issue with Spinning Crane Kick that prevented the ability from gaining benefit from Mastery: Combo Strikes.
      • Fists of Fury now deals 70% damage to secondary targets (was 50%).
  • Warlock [with weekly maintenance in each region]
    • Demonology
  • Spell and pet damage increased by 3%.

Covenants

  • Kyrian
    • Fixed a bug preventing Let Go of the Past (Pelagos soulbind) from reducing magic damage taken as intended.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Castle Nathria [with weekly maintenance in each region]
    • Sludgefist
      • Fractured Debris missile travel time increased to 2.5 seconds (was 1.5 seconds) on Mythic difficulty.
      • The impact locations of Fractured Debris should now be more visible on Mythic difficulty.
      • Destructive Stomp radius decreased to 16 yards (was 20 yards) on all difficulties.
      • Chain Link allowable range increased to 14 yards (was 12 yards) on all difficulties.
    • Stone Legion Generals
      • Volatile Stone Shell’s absorb channel increased to 5 seconds (was 4 seconds).
      • Wicked Blast damage decreased by 15% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Wicked Lacerations damage decreased about 10% on Mythic difficulty.
      • Anima Orb duration increased to 20 seconds (was 15 seconds) on Heroic and Mythic difficulties.
      • Volatile Anima Infusion and Volatile Anima Infection duration increased to 20 seconds (was 16 seconds).
      • Volatile Anima Detonation radius decreased to 40 yards (was 45 yards).
      • Soultaint Effigy now stacks to 80% healing reduction (was 100%).
      • Stonegale Effigy movement force decreased by 20%.
  • Mythic Keystone Dungeons
    • Enemies that are mind-controlled and thrown off the edge of the dungeon no longer contribute to the Enemy Forces requirement.
  • Sanguine Depths
    • Fixed an issue with a Famished Tick getting stuck underground in Kryxis the Voracious’s room.
    • Fixed an issue where Z’rali may get stuck in the air when a player carrying the essence dies in mid-air.

Items and Rewards

  • The Wandering Ancient mount no longer leaves its acorns behind after dismounting.
  • Resolved an issue that prevented Dance of Chi-Ji (Azerite Trait) from granting the correct amount of damage to Spinning Crane Kick.

Player versus Player

  • Death Knight
    • Chains of Ice will once again be removed from the target when spells such Blessing of Freedom are used.
  • Paladin
    • Holy
      • Blessing of Sacrifice is now properly displayed on raid frames when talented into Ultimate Sacrifice (PvP Talent).
