Wyvern Riding is a new mechanic introduced in Monster Hunter Rise that allows you to take control of a large monster and attack with it, initiated by using the তারের বাগ. Wyvern Riding takes the place of the mounting mechanics present in previous Monster Hunter games.

How to Wyvern Ride Guide

Watch this video for a quick introduction on how to get দানব into a Mountable State and initiate Wyvern Riding, and what to do once you’re in control of the monster.

How to Initiate Wyvern Riding – Mountable State

There are three ways to get a monster into a Mountable State, enabling you to initiate a Wyvern Ride.

  1. Deal enough Wirebug damage
  2. Let monsters fight each other
  3. Use the Endemic Life, a Puppet Spider

Once the monster is down (pictured above), you can either attack it to initiate a mount, or sheathe your weapon and press A next to it.

Wirebug Damage

Wirebug damage is noted by damage numbers that are highlighted in blue.

  • Attacks dealt after initiating a Wiredash will inflict Wirebug damage. See the তারের বাগ আরো তথ্যের জন্য পৃষ্ঠা
  • Silkbind Attacks inflict quite a bit of Wirebug damage – use these by holding ZL + A or X with your weapon out. (If you’re a Gunner, hold R + A or X instead).

Puppet Spider

The Puppet Spider can be found amongst Endemic Life in different maps. In the Shrine Ruins in the demo, find it on a cliff in Zone 5. (It’s marked as a yellow spider icon on your map). Pick up a Wirebug on your way to make it easier to scale the cliff.

Once you’ve collected the spider – and it seems each spider can only be picked up by one player – you can use it as an item. Find it on your item bar, and press Y to set it down. It will shoot a web in front of where you place it, immediately putting the monster into a mountable state.

Wyvern Riding Controls

Once you’re on the monster, there are quite a few options available to you, but before looking at that, keep in mind both the Wyvern Riding Gauge and Wyvern Riding Timer.

  • The Wyvern Riding Gauge builds as you damage other monsters or shrug off an attack by evading an attack right before it hits.
  • The Wyvern Riding Timer shows how much time you have left to control a monster. It refills slightly when you land attacks, but greatly decreases when you’re hit.

Wyvern Riding Controls

  • Press X to do a Light Attack
  • Press Y to do a Strong Attack
  • L stick + hold R to move
  • B to Evade – while attacking or being hit, you can press B to evade more quickly at the cost of the Wirebug Gauge.

Certain button sequences and repetitions execute transitions or combos when Wyvern Riding. These can also be triggered with L.

There are two big “finishers” you definitely want to accomplish before the Wyvern Riding Timer runs out.

  • Press Y to Launch the monster forward. It will topple and take damage if it hits a wall or other monster – press B just as the monster hits a wall to hop back on it and launch it once more into a wall. Great to perform when in a small corridor!
  • The Mounted Punisher can only be performed once the Wyvern Riding Gauge is filled, and once it’s filled, you only have a short period of time to perform this move with X + A simultaneously. You’ll want to knock down the opponent monster with regular attacks before attempting this one, because if you miss, you’ll not only miss out on great damage, but you’ll automatically dismount.
