Diana Torres is the new managing director of Nissan Motors Great Britain (NMGB), where she’ll oversee sales and marketing operations in the UK, Nissan’s largest European market.

Starting on April 1, Torres will work from Nissan’s Maple Cross head office near London and report to Mayra Gonzáles, divisional vice president of marketing and sales in Europe.

Torres replaces Andrew Humberstone as MD, bringing over 10 years of experience at Nissan in various global, regional, and market roles, including positions in North America and Latin America.

Before joining Nissan, Torres worked in the aviation and banking industries across Europe. She earned an executive MBA from London Business School in 2011.

Her first role with Nissan was in the UK, as a senior finance controller at the Sunderland assembly plant. She said: “I am thrilled to be back in the UK where my career with Nissan started 12 years ago.

“I look forward to leading a highly capable team who – together with our valued dealer partners – have delivered fantastic results in recent years.

“We face a period of significant change in the industry and will need to build a culture of collaboration, partnership and innovation to ensure our continued growth and success.

“I look forward to open and transparent communications with our stakeholders and network partners as we look to transform the business, and deliver a new era of design, electrification and connectivity to our customers.”

Andrew HumberstoneHumberstone (pictured), who served as Nissan’s UK leader since 2020, replacing the short-lived MD Kalyana Sivagnanam, is moving to become head of Nissan’s Oceania region.

Leon Dorssers, Nissan senior vice president for sales and marketing in Europe, said Torres’ “vision, experience, and high-performance track record” maked her ideally placed to lead one of Nissan’s most important markets through a period of rapid transformation and shift to electrification.

Dorssers said Humberstone had successfully led NMGB through a period of growth, transformation, and strong business performance, and he thanked him for driving significant improvements to the quality of service and representation of the UK dealer network, and for his leadership in DEI locally and regionally.

  • Separately, Nicolas Belaud joins from Nissan Motors Thailand, where he led the aftersales division, to begin a new challenge in the UK as NMGB aftersales director from April 1. He takes over from Chris Marsh, who has been appointed as director, aftersales importers and services repairs for the AMIEO region.
