Abstract – Acil uzaktan eğitim, özellikle pandemi ve doğal afet gibi olağanüstü durumlar nedeniyle yaygınlaşmış ve eğitimde önemli değişikliklere yol açmıştır. Bu durum, öğrencilerin, öğretim materyallerinin, öğretim stratejilerinin ve programların uzaktan eğitimdeki performansını değerlendirmeyi önemli kılmaktadır. Bu çalışma, Türkiye’deki yabancı dil öğretmenliği programlarının acil uzaktan eğitim dönemlerindeki etkinliğini ve öğrenci çıktılarını değerlendirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Trakya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde Almanca ve İngilizce Öğretmenliği programlarından amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi yoluyla seçilen 20 dördüncü sınıf öğrencisi üzerinde yürütülen bu nitel araştırma, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler ve odak grup görüşmeleri aracılığıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirilmiş ve çeşitli temalar doğrultusunda çıkarımlar yapılmıştır. Araştırma, yabancı dil öğretmenliği programlarının uzaktan eğitim süreçlerindeki güçlü yönlerini ve geliştirilmesi gereken alanları belirleyerek, programların daha etkili hale getirilmesine katkı sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu bağlamda, öğretmen adaylarının görüşlerinin detaylı bir şekilde ele alındığı bu çalışmanın, yabancı dil öğretmenliği programlarının acil uzaktan eğitim süreçlerinde daha etkili hale getirilmesi için önemli bir referans kaynağı olacağı düşünülmektedir.
Emergency distance education has become widespread, especially due to extraordinary situations such as pandemics and natural disasters, and has led to significant changes in education. This makes it important to evaluate the performance of students, teaching materials, teaching strategies and programs in distance education. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness and student outcomes of foreign language teaching programs in Turkey during emergency distance education periods. This qualitative research was conducted on 20 fourth grade students selected through purposeful sampling method from the German and English Language Teaching programs at Trakya University Faculty of Education, through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions. The data obtained was evaluated using the content analysis method and inferences were made in line with various themes. The research aims to contribute to making the programs more effective by determining the strengths of foreign language teaching programs in distance education processes and the areas that need improvement. In this context, it is thought that this study, which discusses the opinions of prospective teachers in detail, will be an important reference source to make foreign language teaching programs more effective in urgent distance education processes.
