JD Harris, chairman and CEO at Ascent Solutions, the company that solves the most challenging cybersecurity problems, has been selected for the 2022 Dealmaker of the Year Award from the Smart Business Dealmakers Conference for his work and expertise in M&A and financial investment in the greater Twin Cities area.

The Ascent recapitalization included RunTide Capital, which acquired a minority investment in Ascent Solutions for an undisclosed amount in December 2021. As part of the deal, Ascent Investments LLC (Oxbow Industries and Exmarq Capital), Ascent’s previous investors, remain as smaller minority investors. JD Harris and his wife, Tina, through their company, Nissi Holdings LLC, remain as majority investors.
Harris also spoke on a panel called “Building strong cap stacks for financing growth and acquisitions.” The session included a roundtable discussion among senior executives and veteran financiers on ways to build successful financial growth strategies at any stage in a business life cycle.
