A new financial wellness app developed specifically for athletes has launched in the US.

The scouting report aims to help users improve their credit score

Scout offers personalised financial “game plans” to help users manage their finances and aims to connect budding athletes with “the world’s top athletes and business minds”, who will provide users with money insights.

The firm’s team of “coaches” currently includes NBA players Chris Paul and CJ McCollum, NFL player Travis Kelce, WNBA player Elena Delle Donne and online marketplace StockX founder Josh Luber.

Scout was founded by New Yorker Michael Haddix Jr., who says that while the opportunities for athletes have evolved, the systems of support and education have not.

Users will be able to find advice and insights on building a portfolio of investments to grow their money, leadership insights and lessons learned from business professionals, entrepreneurship advice, credit and savings guidance and budgeting advice.

Scout’s personalised financial “scouting report” is a free credit report that the company says provides “a 360-degree view of your financial health”, and is designed to help users improve their credit score and gain access to lines of credit.

Haddix says: “Each athlete, at all levels, has unique and finite opportunities to connect with and learn from business leaders across the world. We facilitate these opportunities and do so with a singular goal: empowerment.”

Scout has raised $1 million in pre-seed funding and is currently operating a waitlist for those looking to sign up.
