Baldur’s Gate 3 Composer Describes Next Larian Title

BAFTA-winning composer Borislav Slavov briefly gave us a little insight on Larian’s next title, and the grand adventure it promises.

If you’ve been in the gaming sphere for longer than a month, you’d probably be familiar with the game “Baldur’s Gate 3”. Larian Games’ magnum opus succeeded in adapting the true D&D experience while combining familiar cRPG mechanics, a masterpiece campaign and stellar production design. Baldur’s Gate 3 did so well in fact, that it was crowned Game of the Year in 2023, and received additional BAFTA awards in 2024.

One of the recipients of these awards was Borislav Slavov, who won the BAFTA Games Award for Music. Borislav gave an emotional acceptance speech during his time up on stage, thanking Dir. Swen Vinke for his trust during BG3’s production.

Slavov’s success was well-earned. The work he did on Baldur’s Gate 3 could be felt every second you spent in-game. And today, the maestro seemingly gave us the biggest tease on Larian’s upcoming title, and oh boy are we excited.

Good Things Take Time

YouTube streamer WolfheartFPS recently went on X (formerly Twitter) to reminisce about the early days of Baldur’s Gate 3’s hype. In the tweet, he dove into the funniest parts of his first playthrough in a rant that any gamer could relate to. Who wouldn’t want to wipe their memory clean just to experience their favorite game for the first time again?

I miss Baldur’s Gate 3. I miss the build up, I miss the lore dives, I miss my first full run, I miss thunderwaving Alfira off the cliff, & I miss Halsin making me feel insecure. Someone wake me up when Larian’s next game is announced.

Fans echoed similar sentiments in responses to the post, with some praising the organic feel of the Baldur’s Gate 3, believing its sincerity was what drew people in. Coincidentally, Wolfheart’s heartfelt plea caught the eye of one of the people who worked on the game.

Borislav Slavov responded to the initial post to reassure the fans of the game and to describe what was to come.

Good things take time, but rest assured, next adventure will be deeper and very very exciting.

Music goes with almost every aspect of a game. And the fact that the next title might even surpass Baldur’s Gate 3 is near inconcievable, given the game’s already extensive story, far-reaching stakes and emotional depth.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s success could be felt across the entire community, who supported the game and its developers with much enthusiasm. But none received as much love as the game’s characters themselves. Even some of the antagonists weren’t spared!

One of these was Raphael, an ambitious devil who tries to strike a curious deal with your player character during your quest. Andrew Wincott, the man who played Raphael, also received a huge BAFTA win for “Performer in a Supporting Role” in the February 19 awards show.
