A Belgian startup is pioneering a whole new way to expand Bitcoin payments further. Seety, a startup that specializes in digital parking solutions, has rolled out a crypto payment functionality in its services.

In a report published by DataNews, Seety, which is supported by an accelerator program called “Start it @KBC,” will finally allow its users in Brussels and Antwerp to pay in cryptocurrency.

On Thursday, users were able to pay in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Dogecoin, including stablecoins such as USDC and Dai.

All customers have to do is to use their crypto to buy Seety credits right inside its app, and another great thing here is that there would be no additional charges for the crypto transaction.

Over 355,000 users

Seety app is one of the most widely-used apps in Belgium and the Netherlands. It has more than 355,000 users and in 2020, it had an annual turnover of over 2 million euros, which is equivalent to around $2,300,000.

Just like the growing number of companies all over the world who are starting to use cryptocurrencies, Seety has recognized cryptos’ big benefits on its operations.

It makes a lot of sense to adopt cryptocurrencies at this time since they are growing in popularity and more and more people are now willing to use them. Seety doesn’t want to be left behind with the trend and aims to be one of the crypto-friendliest companies in Belgium.

Crypto parking payment in 2014

But Seety wasn’t actually the first one to attempt to introduce crypto payments on parking tickets. Way back in 2014, an app called “Brawker” attempted this integration. This was the time where almost nobody was interested in cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin.
