G2-Blacklist will make its grand debut in League of Legends Wild Rift.

Blacklist International, arguably the biggest esports organisation in the Philippines, has announced its partnership with one of the EU’s most renowned teams in G2 Esports. The partnership will bring about its first co-branded team, G2 Blacklist, which will compete in League of Legends Wild Rift with the team operating out of the Philippines.

Blacklist has already made a name for itself in the mobile esports scene, particularly Mobile Legends Bang Bang and Call of Duty Mobile. This will be the organisation’s third team with hopes of creating waves in LoL Wild Rift. In the official press release, Tryke Gutierrez, CEO of Tier One Entertainment said that “working together (with G2) is something truly special.” He also goes on to add that this “is a game-changer not just for Wild Rift esports, but for the industry as a whole. Alongside G2, we’re looking forward to bringing the Blacklist International brand to new audiences around the world.”

G2 has already made a name for itself in League of Legends, having claimed the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational as well as being a four-time EU LCS winner and a five-time LEC champion. The EU organisation has also had plenty of success in CS:GO and Rocket League with Wild Rift being its first-ever mobile esports title.

The team will make its debut in the Phase 2 Qualifiers of the Wild Rift League Asia on Friday, February 17, 2023. They will go up against The 300 in the upper bracket semifinals. Nigma Galaxy will take on FENNEL Adversity in the other bracket with the games being played in a double-elimination bracket.

The partnership between Blacklist and G2 will also feature a collaboration with world-renowned Filipino street artist, Juanito “Quiccs” Maiquez for a bespoke and exclusive art piece. Being the official esports division of Tier One Entertainment, Blacklist will also launch a brand new series alongside G2 from the Tier One Studios called ‘The Bootcamp’. This will document the journey of the Wild Rift squad in their journey to WRL Asia.
