BOC Aviation leases six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners to Norse Atlantic Airways

BOC Aviation Limited has announced the placement of six used Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners with Norwegian carrier Norse Atlantic Airways. All six aircraft are powered by Rolls Royce Trent 1000 TEN engines and are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2021.

Norse Atlantic Airways is a new innovative airline planning to serve the international, low-cost market between popular European and US destinations with a fleet of modern, fuel-efficient and more environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Norse Atlantic Airways was established in February 2021 with its shares admitted to trading on Euronext Growth Oslo in April 2021.

  • Norse Atlantic is a new low-cost long-haul airline with no ties to any previous carriers. The company was launched in March 2021. Bjørn Tore Larsen (53) (below), is the founder, CEO, and the major shareholder of the airline.

  • Norse Atlantic ASA is a publicly traded company listed on the Euronext Growth Exchange in Oslo, Norway.

  • Norse Atlantic Airways AS is a Norwegian company that will obtain a Norwegian AOC (air operator’s certificate). It is headquartered in Arendal, Norway, and 100% owned by Norse Atlantic ASA.

  • Norse Atlantic Airways will serve the low-cost intercontinental market with modern, fuel-efficient and more environmentally friendly Boeing 787 Dreamliners. It will among other destinations serve New York, South Florida, Paris, London and Oslo. The first flights will take off in late 2021 or early 2022.
