Call of Duty: Warzone’s Rebirth Island has a night mode, and it’s the game’s only map

Verdansk has been destroyed and Call of Duty: Warzone will never be the same. Two hours after Wednesday’s in-game nuclear event wiped out Warzone’s first map, a playlist has appeared for players, and this one contains an updated version of the old Rebirth Island map.

The updated Rebirth Island is basically the same map, except at night. That means everything is significantly darker, and there are now items on the map, like night vision goggles designed to make surviving without the sun just a little bit easier. But that’s not the only change to the map. The night version of Rebirth Island also has a new location called Control Center, as well as a few other updates to the map itself.

Even better, if players look in the distance they can actually see the destruction that’s just occurred on Verdansk from Rebirth Island. According to a screen before matches on the new Rebirth Island, these games take place 15 minutes after the destruction of Verdansk.

While this doesn’t quite help us figure out what’s next for Warzone, it does give players something to do while they wait for Raven Software to open up the next stage of the event, which is set to take place sometime on April 22, likely around 3 p.m. EDT. It’s unclear if the night version of Rebirth Island will stick around after this event, or if it will disappear after Thursday.
