The Carolina Panthers have completed a trade to acquire the no. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft from the Chicago Bears. In the deal the Bears will give up pick no. 9, pick no. 61, a 2024 first-round pick, a 2025 second-round pick and wide receiver D.J. Moore.

Carolina will now have the chance to take a signal caller at the top of the draft for new head coach Frank Reich.

Chicago has asserted that they believe in the future that quarterback Justin Fields can provide, which gave them the opportunity to trade the first overall pick. Along with the draft capital, the team receives Moore, who has 364 receptions for 5,201 yards and 21 touchdowns in his career.
