Community-Led School Transformation Fellowship

In continued partnership with the National Parents Union and Throughline Learning, GreatSchools invites you to apply for the 2024-2025 Community-Led School Transformation Fellowship.

Who: This fellowship is for New England-based parents, community organizers, and advocates. To be eligible, applicants must be working with communities and families in the New England region.

What: This fellowship offers participants the opportunity to develop their knowledge in principles of equitable education, build a community of practice with other changemakers, and gain access to a host of tools and content to advocate for better high schools in their community. The fellowship will include deep dives into innovative educational practices, stories of successful high school transformation, and exercises on power-mapping your educational landscape. The fellowship and all materials are offered in English and in Spanish.

When: The fellowship will take place between October and November 2024.

Where: Fellowship sessions will be virtual on Zoom.

Throughline Learning is excited to help connect Great Schools with talented parent leaders and community organizers in our region. Chief Innovation Officer Malika Ali will be participating in the project as a co-trainer and helping to distribute finalized community toolkits.

There are a limited number of $2,000 stipends for fellows. To receive this stipend, you must apply between January 1, 2024 and July 16, 2024. Applicants who apply after this date are not guaranteed a stipend. Space is limited.

Join Us on Monday for 401Gives!

On Monday, 4/01, Throughline Learning will be participating in 401Gives, a statewide day of giving sponsored by United Way of Rhode Island and named in honor of Rhode Island’s area code (401). This is the 5th installment of an exciting event focused on elevating the visibility, hard work, and missions of nonprofits across the Ocean State.

Donations during 401Gives will help Throughline Learning sponsor scholarships for fellows in our Social Emotional Learning cohort; recruit talented adults from the community to support students; develop free and open source materials for teacher professional learning; and provide ongoing support for our mission, research, and best practices.

This will be Throughline Learning’s first time participating in 401Gives since our rebrand. On April 1-2, we are asking our network to consider supporting our team through a donation or by sharing our fundraising link.

Thank you!
