After a downturn in playing time, one of the best Colts on the defensive side of the ball has been waived. The Indianapolis Colts have let go of Darius (or Shaq) Leonard after he has spoken publicly about his lack of time on the field.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.

Leonard has played in nine games so far this season, racking up 65 combined tackles but zero sacks. He won Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018 and was selected to the First Team All-Pro after grabbing seven sacks, four forced fumbles, two interceptions and leading the league in tackles with 163 (111 solo tackles).

Now that he has been waived, any team may put out a claim on him, with worse teams getting higher priority to grab him and his contract. He’s a three-time First Team All-Pro Selection, two-time Second Team All-Pro and three time Pro Bowler. He played in just three games last season.

Stay tuned for more breaking NFL content, including offseason moves, contract updates and more news from every team.
