After a consumer’s online enquiry about a Nissan Qashqai prompted a response suggesting she was “blonde or stupid” the Milton-Keynes independent dealer MK Auto-Motors has profusely apologised.

The business has blamed an employee who was “let go” three days earlier but who still had access logins to its enquiry management system.

The woman had spotted the used NIssan Qashai on Auto Trader and messaged MK Auto-Motors, and got a message back asking to call the dealership “as you have not left a contact number for you which means you’re probably blonde or stupid”.

A spokesman for the used car dealership apologised for the messages and asked the customer to get in touch for a personal apology.

They said: ‘We let an employee go on Thursday of last week and they had access to the sales enquiry platforms we have.

‘We had not taken them off due to being very busy it was overlooked. We have now done that we can only apologise to the said parties.”

The MK Citizen website reports that the former employee also managed to post several impolite responses to negative reviews on Google before they were finally denied access to the dealership’s systems.
