Digital Artist Pak Will Launch ETH NFT To Free Julian Assange

The well known digital artist “Pak” announced that he will launch an Ethereum NFT in a collaboration with WikiLeaks in order to free Julian Assange so let’s read further in our latest Ethereum news.

The new collection “Censored” is set to launch on February 7 and the digital artist “Pak” aims to free Julian Assange. On the heels of the launch of “Merge” NFT drop in Nifty Gateway, Pak announced a collaboration with WikiLeaks to launch a line of NFTs that will support the Wau Holland Foundation. Founded in 2003 after the biggest association of hackers in Europe, the Wau Holland foundation raised millions in donations for WikiLeaks. Gabriel Shipton who is the brother of Julian Assange noted:

“They support freedom of communication and through their moral courage project Julian Assange’s defense.”

The new collection “Censored” will be launched on February 7^th and according to Pak, it will include a dynamic limited-edition NFT with an image that changes over time-based smart contracts data. The collaboration between Assange and Pak is the latest part of a renewed push to see the WikiLeaks founder getting freed from Prison. Following the footsteps of the FreeRossDAO that organized to raise money for the release of the Silk Road Founder Ross Ulbricht from prison, the FreeAssangeDAO came together to help in the legal efforts for the WikiLeaks founder who was charged on conspiracy charges and could get extradited to the US.

The NFT collection is not related to the FreeAssangeDAO but the organization plans to bid on the dynamic NFT as per Shipton who is an advisor to the DAO. He said the concept is super timely given the conversations in the US about the responsibility of the platforms to monitor content. He cited Joe Rogan’s issues with Spotify over the alleged COVID vaccine misinformation. Pak said:

“For me it’s about freedom, and this time my medium is a case.”

Pak’s previous collection “Merge” was launched in December 2021 and managed to sell up to $92 million worth of “mass” tokens from 28,984 total buyers on the Nifty Gateway marketplace. Right after the token sale, the mass tokens were combined to create a dynamic and distinctive NFT collection so the NFT drop is the highest-grossing collection on the platform so far.
