Find out how to play Tidehunter in Dota 2 to weaken your opponents and win team fights.

Playing tank heroes can be crucial to help your team dominate your opponents in Dota 2. Many esports teams tend to pick tank heroes in games to absorb incoming damage to let their teammates focus on getting kills.

Strength heroes can make a huge difference to your gameplay and strategy. These characters can  enter battles to weaken enemies with their abilities and push back carry heroes in lanes to prevent them from farming their core items. People can play the tank role in a team to withstand enemy attacks and protect towers from being destroyed in Dota 2 matches.

You can use these strategies to trample your foes in team fights while playing Tidehunter.

Tidehunter is a reliable tank hero in Dota 2. He can last longer in lanes and take a considerable amount of damage before enemy heroes can get into positions for their kills. The Strength hero can vanquish his opponents by initiating battles and nuking enemies with Gush. Tidehunter can drastically reduce the armor of his foes by using Gush frequently on enemy heroes.

Gush can be used to deal 260 damage to an enemy unit. He can cast Gush on enemy heroes to slow the movement speed of enemies by 40% for 7 seconds. Enemy units affected by Gush will have their armor decreased by 6 for the duration of the spell. It can take 115 mana to use Gush per cast at level 4 and has a cooldown of 12 seconds.

Leviathan can cast several instances of Gush by buying an Arcane Boots before the first 5 minutes of a game. He has a base mana pool of 291 that requires additional items like an Energy Booster to cast Gush a few times in lanes before running out of mana. Arcane Boots provides 250 mana and 45 movement speed to Tidehunter and costs 1300 gold in the game. Players can replenish up to 175 mana to allies in a radius of 55 with Arcane Boots.

He has a projectile speed of 900, making it easy to cast Gush in lanes while fighting melee heroes. Tidehunter can signal his allies to close in on his opponents before using Gush to deal more damage to enemy heroes. Once you’ve cast Gush on an enemy hero, you can use Anchor Smash to eliminate creeps around him.

Anchor Smash can be used to deal bonus attack damage of 175 to all enemy units in a radius of 375. These units will have their attack damage reduced by 60% for 6 seconds. Anchor Smash has a cooldown of 4 seconds and consumes 70 mana to be used per cast. Tidehunter can increase the chances of getting kills for his team by crushing his enemies with Anchor Smash. It can also help players get plenty of assists during their games with the Strength hero.

You might have to purchase a few items to increase the durability of Tidehunter in battles. People can buy a Bracer for 505 gold to provide 5 Strength, 2 Agility, 2 Intelligence, 2 attack damage, and 0.75 health regeneration.

TIdehunter can buy a Pipe of Insight to tank more damage in team fights. Pipe of Insight grants 30% magic resistance and 8.5 health regeneration to the melee hero. He will apply a strong dispel after absorbing up to 450 damage that can help Tidehunter snap back into battles after being stunned by enemy heroes in team fights.

His ulti, Ravage, is among the most effective spells that can help players win battles in Dota 2. Tidehunter can cast Ravage to deal 450 damage to enemy units around him in a radius of 1250. The extended range of his ulti makes it easy to disable enemy heroes on the run. Enemy units hit by Ravage will be stunned for up to 2.8 seconds, giving his allies plenty of time to focus their attacks on carry heroes. You can cast Gush on carry heroes before using Ravage to reduce their armor before stunning them with his ulti while playing Tidehunter. Ravage has a cooldown of 150 seconds and requires 325 mana.

You can use a Blink Dagger with Tidehunter to get close to enemy heroes in Dota 2 before you cast abilities like Gush and Anchor Smash on them. Blink Dagger costs 2250 gold in the game. Tidehunter can blink up to a distance of 1200 in any direction using a Blink Dagger. Tidehunter can blink into battles to stun enemy heroes to give his allies an advantage during team fights. Players can also use a Blink Dagger with Tidehunter to escape from enemy heroes without getting killed in Dota 2.

People can buy Shiva’s Guard for Tidehunter to restrict the movement of enemy heroes in battles. Tidehunter gains 30 Intelligence and 15 armor by purchasing a Shiva’s Guard for the Strength hero in Dota 2 matches. The Freezing Aura provided by Shiva’s Guard reduces the attack speed of enemy heroes by 45 and their health regeneration rate by 25% of all enemy units in a radius of 1200. You can cast Arctic Blast on enemies around Tidehunter to deal 200 damage to them and reduce their movement speed by 40% for 4 seconds. Shiva’s Guard has a cooldown of 27 seconds and needs 100 mana. You can use Gush to further decrease the movement speed of your opponents to let your allies chase enemy heroes in your games.
