It’s heating up around here, and it’s not just because we’re heading into the summer months. It’s because Xilinx is blazing a trail with some red-hot award wins.
Earlier this week at a ceremony in Santa Clara, Calif., as part of the Embedded Vision Summit, the Xilinx AI Platform took home a 2019 Vision Product of the Year award for the best cloud solution. Sponsored by the Embedded Vision Alliance, the award “celebrates the innovation of the industry’s leading companies that are developing and enabling the next generation of computer vision products.”
As we highlighted in a previous blog, the Xilinx AI Platform is the industry’s first dual hardware and software optimizer. The comprehensive software environment directly compiles and quantizes trained neural network models in standard frameworks such as Caffe, TensorFlow and MxNet and optimizes them for implementation on Xilinx SoCs and FPGAs.
The platform allows accelerated machine learning applications to be deployed in the cloud and at the edge for applications such as real-time video transcoding and content, automatic speech-recognition and object detection from live streaming video, among others. This is the second year in a row that Xilinx has won a Vision Product of the Year award, and the second award in three months that the AI Platform has won, having been recognized by Embedded Computing Design during Embedded World.
