Last year the Illinois Solar Education Association raffled off a brand new Tesla Model X, the most advanced electric SUV on the planet. The Tesla raffle is back for 2022! Can you imagine how you would feel if later this year, the phone rings and it’s ISEA calling to say you hold the winning ticket for this year’s raffle?

Just imagine what it would feel like to sit behind the wheel of a Model X and know you are driving the car of the future, the car that opens its rear doors like the wings of a falcon, is one of the safest automobiles on the road, and constantly updates itself with the latest software. Superb handling and performance – zero to 60 in under three seconds – make driving this car exhilarating. How exciting!

The ISEA has raffled a new Tesla every year for the past eight years. In 2022, they are doing it again. Tickets to win a Model can be purchased up until 11:59pm CST on April 19,2022. The final drawing will take place on Earth Day – April 22, 2022 – at 5:00pm CST. Tickets are $100 each or you can buy four for $300. Only 2,500 tickets will be sold and each ticket has an equal chance of winning. You may see all the rules governing the raffle at this link.

This year’s raffle is a great chance for one lucky person to own a new Tesla, but don’t forget the purpose of the raffle: supporting ISEA‘s mission of solar education and advocacy. Thanks in part to its efforts, the state of Illinois has passed the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, legislation, which will accelerate the transition to clean energy in the Prairie State.

The goal is for Illinois to transition to 100% renewable energy by 2050. The CEJA unlocks funding opportunities for solar and wind investments that will provide Illinois residents with clean energy while creating jobs in sustainable industries throughout the state, especially in traditionally underserved communities.

The climate emergency is growing more urgent with each passing day. Fossil fuel companies with massive advertising and lobbying budgets are spending heavily to protect their business interests even while the evidence mounts that burning fossil fuels is leading directly to an overheating planet.

The Illinois Solar Education Association will put the proceeds of this year’s raffle to work to educate our citizens and political leaders about the benefits of renewable energy. Please help us with this important mission by supporting this year’s raffle. Thank you and best of luck to all.
